The silence in the room was suffocating Aurora. It was heavy and made her heart clench like it knew something was wrong before her brain did. But once she entered and saw the most horrific sight she'd ever seen, she knew just the reason why.
Rowan stood in front of her, still trying to shield her from what she already saw but Aurora didn’t blink. Her eyes were stuck on the lifeless body swaying slightly with every soft creak from the ceiling.
The sight was even more horrific than standing amongst bodies massacred by her. More horrific than watching everything and everyone she loved degrade her and reject her.
