March 14     The rest of the group entered the kitchen, and Joseph watched them. Joseph stood stoic in the warmth of the sun until they were inside the kitchen. “We need a doctor. We need one for mom and Jess,” declared Joseph. “You’re right. Her temperature is rising,” reported Aidan. “We should kill her,” demanded Shirley. “Shut-up. She isn’t changing,” ordered Melissa. “We need to keep it in mind,” commented Shirley. “Shut-up. Her body is fighting it off. All we need to do is get over this hurdle,” expressed Alexandria. “This is final. We’re not killing Amber. We’ll get a doctor, supplies, and people. Amber ordered this,” conveyed Aidan. “She’s still sleeping when I let the dogs out. She told me to trust Sheila,” said Jessica. “Davis, Derrick, Ray, Aidan, Alex, and I will go on a raid,” commanded Joseph. “Jess. Make mom a plate. Make sure she eats,” requested Joseph. “Yes. I’ll do stuff while I’m in there. While I’m cleaning, Sheila will watch her,” responded Jessica. “No, taking mom’s car. She’ll kill us if anything happens to it,” remarked Davis. “It’s too small. The SUV and truck. We’ll need another big vehicle,” stated Joseph. “What about the truck you got at the mall?” asked Aidan. “That’s that. We’ll get additional vehicles while we’re out. We all agree,” conveyed Joseph. Jessica carried the tray of food and drinks into Amber’s room. When she was inside, Jessica sat on the bed and touched Amber’s head. “Still hot,” whispered Jessica. Jessica shook Amber as she spoke, “You need to wake up and eat.” Soon eyes blinked open, Amber rubbed them then gave Jessica a sleepy smile. “Hmmm,” uttered Amber. “Wake up, Amber. You need to eat to keep your strength up,” conveyed Jessica. “Give me a moment,” whispered Amber as she tried sitting up. “Let me help you,” said Jessica. “Thank you,” uttered Amber after she rested against several pillows. “Move your arms, and I’ll put the table across your lap,” related Jessica. “Alright,” whispered Amber. “Eat everything. Would you like anything else?” asked Jessica. “Drinks,” answered Amber meekly. “I’ll be right back with different ones,” stated Jessica. When Jessica got back in the kitchen, she looked at the others. While Jessica got the drinks for Amber, she stopped beside Joseph. “You need to hurry. Amber’s starting to scare me,” reported Jessica. “We will,” replied Aidan. Jessica heard a thud as she approached Amber’s bedroom. Without hesitation, Jessica’s pace quickened. Immediately after Jessica entered the room, she saw Amber on the floor. Jessica placed the tray of drinks on the table, then went to Amber’s side and helped her back into the bed. “What were you doing?” asked Jessica. “I went to the restroom and shut the door because the dogs came back in,” answered Amber. “You should be careful,” declared Jessica. “I didn’t think I would get that tired. Thank you,” whispered Amber. “It’s alright. You need to remember you’re sick and hurt,” commented Jessica. “Okay. Mother,” remarked Amber with a weak smile. “Funny,” expressed Jessica. “When are they leaving?” questioned Amber. “Soon,” responded Jessica. “Tell them, be careful out there. Fewer people and more zombies,” related Amber. “I will. Finish the food. Get some rest,” said Jessica. Before Jessica departed the bedroom, she glanced at Amber. Jessica stared at Amber while she watched the TV, and her eyelids grew heavy. When Jessica walked back inside the kitchen, she stood by Joseph and touched his hand lovingly. Immediately Joseph stood behind his wife and embraced Jessica as he rubbed a hand on her raised stomach. “Amber said, be careful and safe out there. Fewer people and more zombies,” reported Jessica. “Don’t worry, we will,” stated Joseph. Joseph’s lips touched her cheek reassuringly and said, “I’ll come back to you.” As Joseph’s fingers toyed with Jessica’s fingers, his lips touched her mouth with the tenderness of love everlasting. Jessica turned, and her arms slowly encircled the brawny torso of her husband than Joseph’s hand soothingly caressed her mid-back. “Please come back to me,” whispered Jessica in his ear. Once they all departed the house, Jessica stood at the door with a hand over her heart. Jessica waved at them forlorned as they pulled away from the house. “You two are so cute together,” stated Alexandria. “Stop it,” commanded Joseph. A kissing noise came from the backseat, then Davis said, “Kiss, kiss. Smooch, smooch.” They laughed at the silly actions of their youngest sibling. “Davis. Stop,” demanded Joseph with a smile as he blushed. “Why? You know you two get kissie face when you’re alone,” remarked Davis. “Behave. That’s our private business,” declared Joseph. “She’s pregnant. We know you do more than kissie face, or did she eat a watermelon seed,” retorted Davis. “I think it’s a watermelon in her stomach,” commented Alexandria. “She ate a watermelon seed, and now she’s carrying a watermelon?” probed Ray. “Don’t you go there with them,” expressed Joseph. They all laughed at the whole conversation. The SUV pulled up in front of the first of many stores they planned on hitting. “Get all the building supplies the trucks can handle,” ordered Joseph. “We’ll make racks on the trucks so they will hold additional supplies,” related Aidan. “It was a good idea, Aidan. The racks helped with the other supplies,” conveyed Joseph. “I wish our luck were better on finding a doctor,” uttered Alexandria. “Yes. We need some luck,” said Joseph. “This next one will be better. We’re going to their house,” stated Aidan. “Positive thinking,” verbalized Alexandria. Once they were in front of the door, they looked at each other. They all released a heavy sigh. When Joseph knocked on the door, it was loud. It was easily heard. They waited for a few minutes then heard footsteps that approached the door. The door opened slowly and revealed a man. “Hello. My name is Joseph, and this is some of our group,” said Joseph with his hand out. “Hello. My name is Doctor Robert Parker,” related Dr. Parker as he shook Joseph’s hand. “We’re looking for a doctor for my wife and mother. My wife is pregnant, and my mother was bitten a few times by zombies,” articulated Joseph. “I need additional information. Please come in,” verbalized Dr. Parker. Before they entered Dr. Parker’s residence, the doctor stepped backward a couple feet and watched the parade of people come in. Dr. Parker’s eyes followed the hips of Shirley as she sashayed through the portal of his place. Davis gave him a knowing smile, and the doctor smiled sheepishly. “Have a seat,” requested Dr. Parker. “Thank you,” responded Joseph. “My name is Aidan,” stated Aidan with his hand out. “I’m Davis,” commented Davis. “I’m Alexandria, but I go by Alex,” remarked Alexandria. “I’m Shirley,” expressed Shirley as she sat across from the doctor. “You can call me Robert,” disclosed Dr. Parker with a brilliant smile. “I will. Robert,” said Shirley, enticing tone. Alexandria bent toward Aidan and stated, “I don’t see why we brought her.” “Better than leaving her with your mom,” whispered Aidan. “Tell me more about both patients?” requested Dr. Parker. “My wife is Jessica. She’s 5 months pregnant. My mother is Amber. She got bit by a zombie at a blockade and at Aidan’s bar by a gigantic zombie. I would say an alpha, an elite, or both. She has a temperature but hasn’t changed, and it’s been a day,” answered Joseph. “We have medical supplies already,” reported Joseph. “That’s a start. Do you have last names?’ asked Dr. Parker. “Our last name is White, and Aidan’s is Quinn,” specified Joseph. “Is your mom a writer?” probed Dr. Parker. “Yes,” replied Joseph. “I’ve read all her books,” revealed Dr. Parker. “She has a few,” said Joseph. “I heard her zombie book was going to be made into a movie. Was that true?” inquired Dr. Parker. “Yes. She was going to New York over the movie,” articulated Joseph. “I’ll join you,” announced Dr. Parker. “We have additional stores we need to hit before we go home,” related Joseph. “Help me get the supplies I have here, then we’ll hit my office,” requested Dr. Parker. “Okay. We’ve got a plan. Let’s go,” commanded Joseph. After everyone rose from their seated position, Shirley lingered. She opened her legs and gave Robert a scenic view. Shirley gave him a wink as the doctor watched until the view was taken away. Robert gave Shirley a half-smile. “I can do better later,” whispered Shirley as her small breasts rubbed against the doctor’s torso. When Shirley rubbed against Dr. Parker, it opened her top up. The movement revealed most of Shirley’s breasts. “I can see that,” murmured Dr. Parker. “Let’s get going,” ordered Joseph. They collected the doctor’s supplies after Joseph’s words of authority. “I’ll ride in the truck with Ray and Shirley,” said Dr. Parker. “No surprise,” remarked Aidan. “No. It isn’t,” commented Alexandria. “So easy,” said Davis. “There you go, Davis,” retorted Joseph. “No, thank you. My d**k might fall off,” uttered Davis. They all laughed at the expense of Shirley. Davis then grew quiet while they drove to another store. “We have another store,” conveyed Joseph. Joseph looked at the doctor and said, “You’ll stay in the truck. Hide while we go in. We need you safe.” “I’ll stay with him,” stated Shirley. “No. Derrick will stay. You’ll work,” commanded Joseph. “But…,” whined Shirley. “No but’s. You were told. Do it,” demanded Alexandria in a domineering tone. Once they filled the SUV, they stood by the vehicles. “We go to your office and hit the final place,” ordered Joseph. At the final store, Aidan heard a scuffled noise far off. Aidan approached it with caution.
