  Seraphina sat on the balcony, lazily watching Lucan as he practiced his swordplay in the courtyard below. The rhythmic sound of his blade slicing through the air was usually something that fascinated her, but today, she found herself utterly bored. The sun was high in the sky, and the afternoon heat made her feel drowsy.   Her eyelids grew heavy, and she decided to give in to the temptation of sleep, hoping- praying- that this time, maybe she could drift off without falling into the strange, prophetic dreams that had plagued her for days.
