"You're free now," Seraphina whispered, almost as if she needed to say it out loud to believe it herself.
Lilith didn't say anything for a moment, simply staring at Seraphina with an intensity that sent a shiver down her spine.
"Free?" Lilith's voice was hoarse, and raspy, as if she hadn't spoken in a long time. The word seemed foreign on her lips.
"Yes." Seraphina nodded. "You're safe with me now."
