AURIS SIGHED AS SHE watched the small ship float down the river, standing tentatively on the muddy bank. With luck, they’d put enough distance between themselves and the attackers to escape danger. But they still let the boat drift off unoccupied, so it wouldn’t give away the location of their landing. Damien had been furious at the idea, but Auris thought it was for the best.
Looking around at the unfamiliar territory, Auris comforted herself with the thought that Raidi had an understanding of the geography around Running Water, at least in theory. She could get them back to the city from...wherever here was. The attack was must have been over by now, the raiders driven out.
