Chapter Twenty-Seven
Trina’s POV
I hear the voices from outside, laced with the unmistakable tension in the air, like two powers at loggerheads. Lanny looks at me with something hidden behind his eyes, then turns his head towards the entrance. “If I tell you to wait here, would you listen?” he asks, already knowing the answer to that.
“No,” I answer in a clipped tone.
“Of course.”
I stay closely behind him as we walk into the living area, where the tension pools and heightens. Silence suddenly envelopes the space at our sudden arrival but I can see no one since I am hiding behind Lanny. Still, I know Logan is in the room because the whole of my being suddenly becomes aware of his presence. I feel my wolf wagging her tail excitedly, the way she always does when we are in his presence.
