Twenty-Eight “Come to my tent,” Jo said after Henna sent them away and Grace found herself in the rain again, feeling cold and pessimistic. “Go on,” Heron said. “I’m going to look for the showers.” Grace followed Jo as she wound her way through the tents, navigating their makeshift community until she stopped and pushed back one of the flaps. “Here we are,” she said. “Home sweet home.” Inside, there was only one cot instead of two, but otherwise it mimicked the setup Heron had made in their own tent, with the bed as far from the flap as possible. “How can you stand it?” Grace said, ducking into the tent. “Aren’t you uncomfortable all the time?” Joanna shrugged, taking a seat on the cot. “You can get used to just about anything.” The image of Davion’s and Kaiden’s trees in the Soul
