It felt like an answer was never going to come. Days passed. Grace spent them talking with Henna, working out the details and wishes for their community. When not working on the treaty, she spent time with Heron and Joanna. Joanna had produced a pack of cards and was showing them both how to play the games War and Four-Jack-Flash. The soldiers kept themselves busy distributing aide to the community, repairing buildings, and teaching survival skills that made the residents’ lives easier. Trees were cut down, lumber made, new structures built.
The irrigation system was improved, making it easier to pump water from the lake to the houses.
