Xavier's POV.
I wasn't ready for the shock I just had, the woman I've been looking for since I woke up, the woman who vanished from my bed and penthouse, was sitting at the other end of the table as my older brother's wife.
I couldn't believe it, it took a lot for me to wear down the shock I felt, the woman I had a one night stand with, the woman I didn't want to let go.
Her eyes avoided mine everytime I stared at her, her hand nervously scratching the nape of her neck.
Our passionate night flashed in my head,
how she was so hot underneath me, I swear I could hear every word that came out of her mouth, I could feel how soft her skin was, I didn't want to let her go, for the first time, I slept peacefully because she was there.
The pang of pain I wasn't ready for hit me,
a stabbing ache in my chest.
"I really thought you won't show up Xavier." My dad commented, dragging me out of my thoughts.
"I didn't expect to show up." I managed a smile, hoping that my voice doesn't betray the hurt I'm feeling inside. "You know me, always doing what's shocking others." I shrugged.
"Yeah, it's your thing, even if you make others uncomfortable." Rolland clenched his teeth.
I laughed, wondering when my older brother will stop being such an ass and finally understand I really don't care too much for him and his antics.
"You seem angry I came for your wedding," I straightened, "didn't you want me here?"I challenged.
Rolland rolled his eyes, "No, no, no of course not. It's been years since you came here, you normally call, I thought you'd do the same."
"Well I had to congratulate you in person." I pointed out, trying hard to suppress the anger building inside of me. Talking to my older brother brought back memories I would rather keep inside.
"I'm genuinely shocked you had a younger son." The man who asked my parents who I was earlier spoke.
"That's Alana's parents." My father said immediately he noticed my questionable look.
"Oh, nice to me you sir and ma." I nodded politely, they both nodded back.
My eyes landed on Alana and she averted her gaze immediately, her cheeks turning pink. I don't know if she was shy or embarrassed to meet my eyes.
I wanted to stand up and yank her from the chair, I wanted her to face me, I needed to know if she married a douchebag like my brother.
"Will you stay for long?" My brother asked, his eyes on me.
I stared at him, thinking of what to say to annoy him,I knew my presence here annoyed him already.
"I don't know." I answered after a while. "Maybe I'll stay for another day or two..." I trailed off.
He glared at me, "Fine."
"It's wonderful you could find such a beautiful bride for your son." My aunt spoke, I sat straight finally realizing my paternal and maternal family were here as well.
"Your daughter is so pleasing to the eyes." My aunt added.
I watched Alana grab a spoon tightly, her eyes focusing on the table.
"Let me check something." I excused myself.
"Why did you call him?" I heard Rolland ask immediately I walked out of view.
"He's your brother Rolland." My father warned.
I rolled my eyes, I wasn't happy to be back either, and now seeing the woman I want with him pissed me off.
I reached my room, shutting the door before letting my anger take over me, slamming it as loud as I could, staring at everything in the room had me remembering things I thought I had long forgotten.
I ran my fingers through my hair, taking a deep breath, reminding myself that I'm grown up now and in control of things than I was when I was young.
A sigh left my mouth after a while, I leaned against my wall and took off my tie, unbuttoning the first three buttons of my shirt and letting my suit drop to the floor.
Alana's face flashed in my head. I hated thinking about her like this. It annoyed me that she's married to my brother of all people.
The passionate night we had flashed in my head again, our kisses, our naked bodies, the feel of us together, my hands running over her soft body as we kissed passionately until exhaustion took over.
I couldn't help but remember how she moaned softly when I bit her neck, I could feel myself getting harder at the memory.
Shaking my head, I closed my eyes, "it doesn't matter how, she's your brother's wife." I murmured to myself before taking a deep breath and going back outside.
She still hasn't met my eyes yet, her eyes remained on the table and I knew she was aware of everything around her.
My father looked at me curiously while my aunt smiled at me gently, "I'm so happy to see you Xavier."
"Me too Aunt." I managed a smile.
Rolland stood up abruptly, "We have to get started on other preparations, Alana, please go change in the room." He stood up and commanded, I could tell she didn't like that.
"Rolland let your wife eat, if you notice, she must be nervous and she hasn't eaten since she sat here." My aunt intervened.
Rolland grumbled as he sat down, I tried not to laugh, his face seemed very red.
"Why aren't you eating?" Her mom frowned at her.
"I'll... eat." Alana mumbled quietly.
My eyes were still on her, I couldn't look away,
Even when I felt like I had eyes watching me, I kept looking at her.
She looked up and her eyes met mine, she averted her gaze again.
I felt my heart thumping rapidly in my chest, I was getting excited, I didn't know why. All those emotions I bottled up lately suddenly came tumbling out of me. And I knew she felt the same way with the way her cheeks flushed immediately.
"Excuse me." Alana suddenly stood up, walking out of sight.
