The entrance to the hotel is grand. Most influential people were gathered from all over the world to attend this event.
As we entered, my jaw almost fell. The golden chandelier hung like the sun in the middle of the place. It was wide enough to accommodate the elites.
I walked behind Mr. Hunter. Most guest recognized him just by a glance. And women drooled looking at him. Just what I was expecting to happen.
He radiates a dark aura. Heavy and brooding. His handsome face can captivate anyone with one look. With his perfect facial harmony, he could start a war and win against all the men in this area.
A woman approached him and kissed him on the cheeck. I stepped back.
"Good evening, Mr. Hunter. You look handsome," she whispered in his ear. I looked away. There's a lot of women fancying him and there's more to come.
"You too, Ms. Finn."
They talked about business while I looked around to observe. Not that I don't belong here. It's just that, I chose to be his secretary instead of being an heir to my family's business. And I don't have a single second of regret doing it. It was all for my alpha, Mr. Pierce Hunter.
"Sir, can I excuse myself for a moment? I need to get changed." I whispered to him the moment Ms. Finn left.
I walked out the scene to find Arthur waiting for me with a box on his hand. I immediately went inside the comfort room to change.
I wore a red long dress with a slit. It exposed my long thighs. The package I ordered came with an underwater so it felt comfortable wearing it.
I put on a little make up on my face and went out when I i was satisfied with my look.
Head held high, I entered again to find Mr. Hunter.
Pierce's POV
I looked at my watch. She's been gone for 15 minutes. I sipped on my glass and looked around. Until I heard a little commotion near the entrance.
There came Claire wearing a sexy long dress. It hugged her body so well. Unconsciously, I finished my drink in one shot. It drew a line on my throat. And intensified the heat I was feeling inside my body.
My jaw clenched as she found her way to me. What I didn't like was those plenty of eyes that didn't look away from her. She's a beauty and everyone knows it.
I almost broke the glass with my fist. Dirty thoughts never left my mind. Right there and then, I wanted to claim her. I wanted to let everyone know that she is my possession, and only mine to own.
"Mr. Hunter, sorry I took too long," she said. I didn't say anything. "I changed my—"
"You shouldn't have."
Her skirt partnered with a silk blouse she was wearing earlier already caught too many men. And now, she effortlessly made them her dogs, willing to lick her feet. I won't let that happen. Not in my f*****g watch.
I took a glance at her. Slit too high. Damn.
"Book another room for tonight. And tell Arthur he can go home." I said. She immediately typed on her phone.
"Look who it is. The most handsome bachelor everyone was talking about!" I looked at where the high pitched voice is coming. It was Alexandra. My ex fiance.
On my peripheral view, I saw Claire step back. She gave way to Alexa who's now a little drunk. Still holding a glass of champagne in her hand.
"Hey, Alexa," I greeted her.
"Handsome, it's been a while since the last time we saw each other. I came with dad hoping to see you tonight," she then ran her palm on my chest. I quickly removed it. She knows why.
"Alexa, don't touch me like that. Our engagement is over." I muttered, not looking at her.
"Oh, come on, Mr. Hunter. It wasn't like I was the one who called it off." she then leaned closer and tried to kiss me, but I grabbed her arm, tight enough to stop her.
"Don't make a scene. Don't even dare."
"O-okay," I saw terror in her eyes as she turned her back on me.
When I looked around, Claire suddenly disappeared. Where the hell did she go without my permission? Damn it.
I looked for her. Plenty of women tried to stop me to make a conversation but I wasn't in the mood.
Then at the corner, I saw her. Talking to a man. Not just another man. It was Calvin Seviro. A loser I beat in an auction who tried to sabotage me few months ago.
I walked towards them. My eyes were locked at Claire. I kept my jaw clenched until I reached her just as Seviro tried to reach for her hand.
Claire almost fell when she saw me and my reflexes saved her from stumbling.
"Mr....Mr. Hunter..."
"Claire, let's go." I said and grabbed her hand, ready to leave.
"Pierce. Won't you even say hi to me?" the bastard said.
"Why would I pay attention to a loser like you?" I saw him grit his teeth and I walked straight, dragging Claire's arm with me.
"Ouch, Mr. Hunter! You're hurting me! Ouch!" she exclaimed.
"Why were you talking with that man?"
She looked puzzled. Like she didn't know what I was saying.
"I don't know him. He just...he just talked to me and..."
"Don't let any man talk to you, Claire. You understand?" I already marked her. She cannot play around like before. She's mine.
She breathed heavily and sharpened her eyes as looked at me.
"Then why did you let those women talk to you? I'm not allowed to talk to other men, but you're allowed to talk to other women? That's unfair—"
"You don't f*****g talk back to me, woman!" my voice echoed.
Her eyes filled with tears. f**k. I couldn't control myself. She lowered her head and tried wiping her eyes. I looked away.
She didn't talk. We were both standing in the hallway in silence. I am getting annoyed that she's not speaking to me.
"Did you book a room for yourself like I said?" I finally muttered. She nodded her head. Still no words so I waited for another minute. "You're not sleeping there. Sleep in my suite. You need to learn your lessons from me."
I grabbed her arm and walked towards the elevator. I'll make sure she gets punished for treating me coldly. I am an alpha male. No one gets treat me like that.
Not even you, Claire.
