I woke up huddled in Elgin’s arms. It was dark but it was no longer raining. “Are we here?” I asked in a sleepy voice.   He slammed the door with a foot and locked it with a beep. “I’ll go up with you and then come back and get your things.”  “I can walk,” I protested.  “Would you deprive me of the pleasure of carrying you?” he said in a mischievous voice. And the elevator is broken.”  The elevator? I looked up and noticed that we weren’t at the bottom of my building at all. “But... we’re at your place!” I exclaimed.   “Yes.” “What time is it?” I asked when he had walked up half the floors.  “Nine o’clock.”  “Are you meeting with the pack?”  “I cancelled.”  “Why?”  He gave me a mischievous look that ended up making me blush. I must have looked like a ripe tomato.
