“Perfect.” He smiled at Gere when he was able to stand on his own, and though the mothman hovered with his hands and wings out behind Henry, ready to catch him, he made it all the way to the balcony on his own. The second the balcony door was open, there was no holding Gere back. He picked up Henry like a treasure to be carried into the night, strong arms wrapping tightly around Henry’s waist and back, and leaped off the balcony, their bodies barely dipping more than a couple of feet before he took them high into the sky, powerful wings beating near silently in the night.
