Lexi grabbed up her clothes and rushed to the bathroom, locking the door securely behind her. With shaking hands, she dressed quickly, and then pressed her ear against the door. Undecipherable muffled men's voices drifted through the crack of the door. She waited for Luke to come to her, hopefully to tell her it was over. But what had happened? Her hands clasped and unclasped at her waist while she paced in the confined place. She wondered why Luke had her locked in the bathroom. Had the two thugs come after her? Did they know she was here? If so, she trusted Luke and felt confident he would handle them appropriately; especially after watching him take care of Eddy.
Suddenly, the bedroom door opened, and Luke called out, "Ok, Lexi, you can come on out. They're gone."
