The Money Offensive
A few days later, Shen Hua sent A Yan a contract regarding a new project under Nanhua Group. The project promised substantial profits, enough to make A Yan wealthy in a short time.
A Yan looked at the contract, his heart in turmoil. He knew signing it would bring unprecedented opportunities, but it also meant getting closer to Shen Hua.
After some hesitation, he finally called Shen Hua.
"Aunt Hua, I'm afraid I can't accept this contract," he said, his tone apologetic.
Shen Hua's voice remained gentle but carried a hint of firmness: "A Yan, you're a smart man. You know what this opportunity means. Are you really going to give up such a good chance because of some unnecessary concerns?"
A Yan was silent for a moment, then said firmly: "Aunt Hua, I appreciate your kindness, but I can't accept this contract. I want to succeed through my own efforts."
Shen Hua chuckled, her tone tinged with sarcasm: "A Yan, you're still too young. In this world, opportunities are only for those who know how to seize them. Are you really going to give up all this because of so-called 'principles'?"
A Yan didn't respond, but his silence spoke volumes.
Emotional Manipulation
Shen Hua didn't give up after A Yan's refusal. She began using her daughter to manipulate A Yan emotionally.
She called her daughter, who was in Europe, her tone tender and concerned: "Sweetie, are you having fun there? Mom misses you."
Her daughter's voice was excited: "Mom, I'm having a great time! But I miss you too, and A Yan."
Shen Hua smiled slightly, her tone probing: "A Yan has been very busy lately and might not have time for you. Why don't you consider staying longer? Mom can arrange more trips for you."
Her daughter hesitated, then said: "But I want to go back and see A Yan soon."
Shen Hua's tone suddenly turned serious: "Sweetie, you're still young. You should see more of the world. A Yan is a good boy, but he might not be the best choice for you. Mom wants you to think more about yourself."
Her daughter fell silent, clearly affected by her mother's words.
Psychological Warfare
Shen Hua knew A Yan's weakness lay in his sense of responsibility and deep affection for her daughter. She decided to exploit this further to break down his psychological defenses.
She arranged a private meeting, inviting A Yan to her office. Inside, Shen Hua wore a tailored business suit, looking sharp and elegant. She sat behind her desk, her gaze deep as she looked at A Yan.
"A Yan, I know you're a responsible boy, but have you ever thought that your sense of responsibility might make you miss better opportunities?" Her voice was low and magnetic, as if piercing his heart.
A Yan frowned slightly: "Aunt Hua, I don't quite understand what you mean."
Shen Hua smiled lightly, her tone enticing: "Your current girlfriend, my daughter, is a good girl, but she might not be able to help you much. If you're willing to accept my help, you'll achieve unprecedented success. Are you really going to give up all this because of a relationship?"
A Yan's heart wavered, but he quickly calmed down, his tone firm: "Aunt Hua, I appreciate your concern, but I can't give up my feelings and principles for the sake of gain."
A cold glint flashed in Shen Hua's eyes, but she quickly masked it. She sighed softly, her tone tinged with helplessness: "A Yan, you're still too young. But it's okay, I'll give you time to think it over."
