I was relieved that Gideon’s Alpha friends were a reasonable lot. I liked Leon the most. He was a quiet problem solver who had witch blood in him. So, he was able to control his reaction to my scent in no time. We should get along. Robert was funny and easy to distract. I wondered what his sister was like. She was supposed to be the distraction – not me. I hated the idea of a forced mate bond, but it could have gone down so differently if I had not been there during the same day Gideon was trying to break out.
I had to admit that a little bit of fate intervened. I couldn’t think of any other way Gideon and I would have met.
