Alice grew up having a very simple life in the poorest in the poorest part of the kingdom that was practically forgotten by the members of the nobility and even the royal family themselves.
It was hard as her and father always had to live in fear of their village being raided by wolves or by bandits. However, although it was a village that had nothing and no security to speak of, the moon goddess herself seemed to be personally taking care of them as they had never had to experience such a traumatic situation.
The village chief did try his best but there was very little that he could do as he had no ties whatsoever to the nobility and could not attend the crucial meetings where the fate of every town and village was decided.
