Chapter 5

-Elise-

Holding the sheets tightly, I squeeze my eyes tighter as the rays of the sun were trying to pry them open. I have always been the type of person to wake up early. If I was back in Peon, I would need to get up to feed the chickens or help my grandmother with breakfast. I prepared for the feeling of loss to hit me but I feel nothing.

I immediately notice that Clyde is not beside me and a wave of panic washes over me. Where did he go? Did he leave me? But he promised he will take me along and take care of me.

Controlling the tears that were about to escape, I see a piece of paper on the night stand and hurriedly picked it up.

Hey Princess, I’m sorry I couldn’t be there when you woke up but I had to leave to ensure everything was in place for our journey back to the royal capital. I have bought you a new dress and have ordered a servant to attend you. Wait for me my love, I will be back as soon as possible

Words could not explain the relief that washed over me. My life was now tied to Clyde’s. I think it was safe to say that I needed him to live. My every being wishes to be with to be with Clyde and he makes him happy. Felling the side of my neck sting, I carefully touch it and blush while remembering what had occurred the night before. For some reason, I felt way safer and more at ease referring to Clyde as ‘daddy.

“Shriek”

I could not control the shriek that left my lips and I began rolling on the bed. For the first time in my life, I was thrilled to be a weak and frail Omega.

I would need to show my daddy that I loved him. I should learn to cook some of the capital’s dishes. Would that make him happy?

“Heehee” I giggle joyfully.

My daddy is the strongest and the most handsome male in the entire world. I wanted to give myself to him completely. Wanted him to control and tell me what do.

…….But was this ok? Would this get him into trouble? Omegas were meant to be mated to only members of the royal family. Touching my now black hair, I let my fear was away. I had Clyde with me and that was all that mattered. If he says everything was alright, then everything is sure to be alright.

Finally deciding to get out of bed, I walked to the chamber pot to relieve myself and before I could move another muscle, a pretty female walked into the room.

“Good morning my lady, my name is Penelope and the royal beta Clyde ordered me to help you get ready for the day” the girl said with a huge smile on her face.

“Growl”

Huh?

A growl?

Was that from me? But I do not have a wolf how could I possibly be able to growl? But more importantly this pretty female had talked to daddy and was in the same room daddy slept in.

This was not me. I was never one to be jealous or have feelings of hatred and malice but the thought of Clyde talking to another female stirred up something in me.

I was not that stupid. I knew that daddy had so much money and was in a very good position. He was the righthand man to the king and was the royal beta. Of course, there would be so many girls wishing to sink their claws into him.

Daddy said he only needed me and there was no way he would leave me right?....

“My lady?? Your mate bought you a very pretty green dress that would very much compliment your skin and grey eyes”.

Looking back at the girl, I notice that she looks excited to serve me and does not have any interest in Clyde or have a hint of malice. However, was this the life I was to live now? Could I really get used to having people serve me? I wanted to live a simple life. Can I still have that?

‘Uhm… thank you. I can dress myself” I say shyly. I did not want another person seeing me in all my glory.

“I’m sorry my lady, but my orders are clear. I have prepared a rose scented bath for you”

Just at this moment, 3 other females walk into the room with a wooden bath filled with water and roses.

Penelope made a quick work of stripping me and guiding me towards the hot bath. To be honest, this process was very relaxing. I was massaged with scented oils and washed very nicely.

Back at Peon, having a bath with hot water and such scented oils were a luxury. It did feel nice and I smelled really good. Would daddy like it? The moment that Clyde came into mind, I became as red as a tomato.

“Oh my goodness! My lady! Is the water to hot? You are turning quite red?” One of the girls exclaimed.

“N-no its fine”

“My lady, your skin is so soft and your hair is very pretty” another girl says.

This made me become even redder. Sure, I was used to people making remarks about my appearance but I had never been directly complimented before.

“T-thank you”

They all giggled. Soon, my bath was done and I was dressed in an exquisite dress. The material was soft and the dress felt very comfortable. Penelope had combed my hair very gently and put it into two French braids. The mark in my check was visible for the whole world to see and on my neck, I had on a very pretty necklace. My earrings were made of diamonds and beautifully complimented the dress.

Twirling around, I gawked at my appearance in the mirror. I looked like royalty. I looked very beautiful and could not wait to show Clyde.

He told me to wait in the room but could I go look for him? I wanted to show him how beautiful I looked so badly. I wanted him to look at me and smile.

“Heehee”

“Is there something funny baby?”

Quickly turning around, I am greeted with a beaming face of Clyde. He is dressed and has on his cloak. He looks like every bit of the royal beta he is. Walking up to me, he lifts me into his arms and all I could do was wrap my legs round his waist and snuggle into his chest.

I loved how he smelled. His scent is like that of a fresh shower.

“You look so beautiful sweetheart. I am very pleased with the servants I sent” he commented while playing with one of my French braids.

I was very delighted that he thought I looked beautiful but I felt weird hearing him say he was pleased with other females.

“Growl”

Ah

I did it again. That growling thing that I’ve seen other werewolves do.

“Did you just growl sweetheart? You have no idea how happy it makes me to know that my wolf is a part of you”

Kissing the mark he left on my skin, he began rubbing my back and kissing my neck.

“There is no need to be jealous baby. In the entire kingdom of Salox, you are the only female that I will ever look at. You are mine Elise and I don’t share”

I immediately became as red as a tomato.

“I-I am not jealous!!!” I shout.

Alright, I was jealous but how I could I not be?! Clyde was all male. He was so handsome and so manly. Of course, there would be other females that found him attractive as well.

I heard some of the girls talking back in the village and they said that the females in the capital were very beautiful and sophisticated. I could not stop the wave of insecurity that washed over me. I would need to learn fast so that Clyde does not get bored of me.

”Alright love. I believe you. Calm down so you don’t wear yourself out. I have something important to talk to you about.”

I could immediately feel the serious atmosphere. I knew what this was about. Clyde had betrayed the royal family by marking me and proclaiming me as his mate. I did not feel scared though. All I needed to do was to listen to Clyde and everything would be fine.

“When we reach the capital love, we have to be very careful. No one is to know that you are an omega or they might try to take you away from me”

“Growl”

The thought of being separated from Clyde made me want to destroy everything. I needed him. He is my daddy! And I wasn’t sure if I could survive without him by my side. I know I just made him but he has become the most important person to me.

Kissing my neck once again, he continues.

“Relax Elise. If anyone tries to take you away from me, I would tear the entire kingdom apart. You are mine! But you will need to listen to me from now on and we would need to dye your hair at least once every week. It is a shame as I love your white hair but don’t worry. Once I retire and we move to a safe place, you can have any color of hair you desire.”

“You are going to retire…… for me?”

“Yes princess. It might take a while but I want to happy owning a farm with you”

“But-

Before I could respond, we were interrupted by a loud knock.

“Forgive my interruption royal beta Clyde but the preparations to leave are complete.”

“Ok princess, it’s time to go to my home. Just remember, you have always had black hair”

Kissing my forehead, he slowly lets me down and wraps a shawl over my shoulders.

I do not know what kind of life awaits me at the royal palace but one thing I’m certain of is that Clyde will protect him.

Holding his hand, I allow him to lead me out of the room and we soon begin our journey to the royal capital.
