        Amare didn’t want Zina to meet his Dada, so she linked up with Angel and they went back to Pa and Zo. Amare went on his own, asking the people who knew him if they had seen his Dada. Someone pointed towards where his Dada was seated amidst some other Royal Statesmen and their wives, filling their bellies up with palm wine and old people jokes.           When his Dada spotted him, he excused himself and went to meet Amare who stood, balling his fists at his sides. The sides of his jaw ached from how hard he was clenching his teeth, but he didn’t stop.           “I didn’t think you’d come looking for me. I am glad to see you, Amare. I really am,” Royal Statesman Steves said with the utmost sincerity.           “Okay. Bye.” Amare turned on his heels.           “Amare, please wait.
