Melissa had always had warm feelings for Luke, and she thought of him often. She worried she’d never been able to do enough for him, and even though his caring could calm her worries, she had no idea what she could ever do or say to relieve his distress. She knew he had an inherited disease, as she did, and she knew those clinical names. There were medicines, and there were hovering doctors. But she knew as Luke did that the best medicines were like Band-Aids, covering the wounds but doing nothing to heal them. She only had her intuition, but she was sure Buzz was Luke’s.
