Evan ran back into the Myerson reception area, telling Lucille he must have left his phone in there somewhere.
This fibbing is getting to be a habit.
He wasn’t about to tell anyone that he was sure Melissa had been abducted. Nor was he going to inform them that Wilmer and Richards were presumed missing, all because Father Coyle had just died under suspicious circumstances.

Evan was on his own now at the clinic. Leon had left the convent with the sheriff. They’d be cooperating with FBI and ATF. If there was an action to be taken, they’d have to figure out where the gangster was holding Melissa. Even though Luke couldn’t be specific about the location, Evan hoped that the boy might be able to give him enough clues to make a good guess.
