Anna dropped to her knees next to him, frowning as she checked him for wounds. “Can you stand up?” He groaned. That would be a no then. She patted his body and found no moisture. He didn’t seem to be bleeding. Flopping onto his back, he stared numbly at the sky. “So dizzy,” he mumbled in slurred Haloren. “Can’t stand.” It was too dark for a visual inspection, but she was willing to bet that he had a concussion. Anna felt her mouth tighten. “We can’t stay here,” she said, glancing back over her shoulder. The Ragnosians had moved into the dark field behind the building. Many had turned off their flashlights and were firing blindly at the trees.
