Archie and I trailed at the back of the small group we were with.
Jay, Callum and Diego had all gone off to some sort of museum and that left me, Archie, Penny, Bubby and of course his girlfriend Taylor.
"You have to try Fish and Chips, Pen." My brother said, his arm thrown carelessly around her shoulder as his girlfriend glowered beside him. "It's like an orgasm in your mouth."
I cringed, as did Archie, both of us sharing that look that said it all.
"Well I'm all for that and everything," she replied, leaning into my brother's touch. "But a burger over anything everything everyday."
"Ok we're just gonna-" I tried, holding up my thumb to point at the nearby coffee shop. But no one apart from Archie paid any heed and he rolled his eyes, taking my hand and pulling me go the coffee place named 'Pick and Mick's.'
We walked in, immediately being drawn to the warm atmosphere and smell of coffee.
Archer told me to sit as he got our drinks, not asking me what it is I want but instead going to order.
I looked around the place, feeling my fingers twitch alongside my lips at the creative and artistic theme of the place.
This place was literally an artist's dream. And I was no exception.
I got out of my stool, walking over to the large empty canvas that said beside it 'draw on me'.
Grinning from ear to ear, I pulled off my backpack, opened the emergency pencil case I always had on me and then began my work.
What I drew was very simple, just a small girl with brown hair and hazel eyes alongside a tall guy with light brown hair and green, animated eyes. Their arms were around each other, smiles on their faces.
I quickly put my signature at the bottom, just as Archer returned, raising an eyebrow at what I was doing.
His eyes narrowed and, slowly but surely, a smile- the real kind that not many people had witnessed- came to his face.
His eyes crinkled slightly around the edges, his eyebrows raising, the tip of his teeth visible as he grinned away.
I smiled back shyly, taking the maroon cup from his hand that said on it 'extra marshmallows'
I tucked back a piece of hair behind my ear, packing away my pencil case and returning it to my backpack.
Archie, still smiling, extended his hand for me to take and I did.
We walked for a while without saying anything, until he broke it. "You have a real talent, River." He said and, with colour rising to my cheeks, I looked away.
Not many people knew how much I loved to paint, to draw and to sing. He knew two of those things, which was more than I could say about my own mother.
"Thank you." I mumbled and he threw his arm around me, pulling me gently into his chest while placing a kiss to the top of my head.
"I think it's gonna rain." He said and, looking up at the sky, I nodded.
"Yeah, probably."
We continued walking after that. We talked, laughed, joked. It was just the two of us in the one of the busiest cities in the world.
Just Archie and River.
As the sun began the set, the first drops of rain fell. We were now in Central Park in the playground area near the middle.
I'm barely even five minutes, it began to shower it down. The park got empty and Archer took my hand, probably to lead me away.
But I pulled my hand gently out of his grasp, gave him a wide grin and then tilted my head up, feeling the rain pelt against my face.
I felt Archie's eyes on me but, soon enough, he went to step behind me so that my back was pressed into his chest. He interlocked our hands before spreading both our arms together.
A laugh bubbles through me, the park now empty. The sun was hidden behind the dark stormy clouds of rain. I felt Archie's lips on the shell of my ear and I swear I felt his lips curved into a grin as I shivered in his arms.
He put his arms tightly around my waist, hands still linking mine before releasing his left hand to tilt my chin in his direction.
His warm breath fanned against my now soaked lips.
"I love-" the rest of his words were drowned out by a crack of lightning. "-rain." He finished after a moment.
I grinned widely, opening my eyes to meet his green ones. "I love rain too, Archie." I said.
We both knew neither of us were talking about the weather.
He smiled slightly and then placed his lips on mine. I sighed into the kiss, feeling the buzz of electricity flow through me.
My knees wobbled but he kept me up, breaking the kiss for a second to turn me around so I was facing him.
This time when he kissed me, there was underlying message to it.
It was rougher this time, harsher. I smiled against his lips, feeling his hand go to my cheek and the other a little lower than the small of my back.
My smile dissolved as the kiss got a little out of hand, leaning on my top toes as he bit my lip and licked the seam.
Seemingly tired of having to lean down to my height, he put his hands at the back of my thighs and hauled me up.
An unknown sound escaped my lips as my head bent to capture his lips once more.
He released a growl from the back of his throat, one hand keeping me stable on my thigh and the other testing reactions if he bought it a little higher.
There was no complaint from me as he grew surer of his actions, his hand going from my thigh to where his other was... massaging.
I moaned into his mouth, my own hands deep in his hair, feeling the soft roots of his brown wavy locks. They now fell right back over his head, a darker colour to what they usually were.
We had to pull apart eventually to catch air but he kept his lips on my skin, moving them to my jaw and then to my neck. I threw my head back to give him better access, another sigh leaving me as he focused on the bit where my collar bone ended at my neck.
He kissed me right there and I withered a little bit. I felt his smirk against my skin. I caught the words "found it" before he moved his clearly very talented lips back to my neck.
As he kissed, licked and did god knows what else, the sounds coming from me went from PG to 'holy s**t'.
I withered, pulling myself higher up closed my eyes as the mixture of the rain and him made for a scrumptious experience.
"So f*****g sexy." I heard him mutter as he pulled my head back down to kiss my lips.
He put me down eventually, leaving a lasting kiss on the corner of my lip.
He looked at my neck and smirked, looking back at my confused expression with an innocent expression on his flushed face.
He leaned forward so he was bending right beside my ear.
Then huskily, sexily he whispered to me.
"I really, really love rain."
