Bella's eyes narrowed as Sophie exited, her designer heels clicking down the hospital corridor.
"Get out," Bella said, her voice cold, her eyes fixed on Enzo.
Enzo's brow furrowed, his expression a mix of concern and determination.
"Bella, I—"
"Leave. Now," Bella repeated, her voice firm but trembling.
Enzo's jaw clenched, his eyes burning with intensity.
"I won't leave you, Bella," he said, his deep voice unwavering.
Bella's face twisted in anguish, tears welling up.
"You're engaged. To her," Bella spat, her voice rising.
Enzo's eyes flashed with a hint of defensiveness.
"That doesn't matter," he said, taking a step closer.
Bella's voice rose.
"It matters to me!" she exclaimed, her fists clenched.
Enzo's expression softened.
"I know it does. But, Bella, I—"
"Don't say anything," Bella interrupted, her eyes welling up.
"Just leave."
Enzo's face hardened.
"I refuse," he said, his voice firm.
Lorenzo appeared at the doorway, his expression cautious.
"Big Bro, maybe you should—"
Enzo's sharp glance silenced Lorenzo.
"I won't leave her," Enzo repeated, his eyes locked onto Bella.
Bella's heart ached, torn between her love for Enzo and her hurt.
"You're tearing me apart," she whispered.
Enzo's eyes softened.
"I'll stay by your side," he promised.
Bella's resolve crumbled.
"Fine. Stay. But don't expect me to forgive you easily."
Enzo's lips curved into a gentle smile.
"I'll earn your forgiveness," he vowed.
Lorenzo cleared his throat.
"Uh, Big Bro, maybe we should give Bella some space—"
Enzo's gaze never left Bella.
"I'll stay," he repeated.
Bella sighed.
"Suit yourself."
Enzo pulled up a chair, sitting beside Bella's hospital bed.
The silence between them was thick, heavy with unspoken emotions.
Bella's thoughts swirled.
Why wouldn't Enzo leave?
Didn't he understand how much he hurt her?
As the minutes ticked by, Bella's anger ebbed, replaced by exhaustion.
Enzo's presence was comforting, despite the pain.
