Bella entered Don Vincenzo's study, concern etched on her face. "What happened, Uncle? You seemed distraught earlier."
Don Vincenzo's eyes locked onto hers, his voice barely above a whisper. "I had twins, Bella. They were separated at birth. I've been searching for them my entire life."
Bella's eyes widened, her face pale. Suddenly, memories flooded her mind – fragments of laughter, tears, and a familiar face.
"No...no...this can't be," Bella whispered, her voice trembling.
The room began to spin, and Bella's knees buckled. Enzo, standing in the doorway, rushed to catch her.
"Bella, no!" Enzo shouted, scooping her up in his arms.
Don Vincenzo's face contorted in anguish. "Oh, Bella...I'm so sorry."
As Enzo cradled Bella, he focused on comforting her. "It's okay, Bella. I've got you."
Bella's eyes fluttered closed, her body limp in Enzo's arms.
Enzo carefully placed Bella in the car, securing her seatbelt. Don Vincenzo's eyes never left hers, his heart heavy with concern.
As they drove to the hospital, Don Vincenzo's thoughts swirled. He couldn't shake the feeling that Bella's reaction was more than just shock.
At the hospital, Dr. Rossi rushed to attend to Bella. Enzo paced outside her room, his eyes fixed on the door.
Don Vincenzo sat beside Bella's bed, holding her hand. Her closed eyes and delicate features reminded him of his twins. A pang struck his heart; he saw a part of himself in her.
"Bella, my dear, you're a piece of me," Don Vincenzo whispered, his voice cracking.
Dr. Rossi entered, her expression reassuring. "She's stable, but we need to run some tests."
Don Vincenzo nodded, his grip on Bella's hand tightening. "Do whatever it takes."
Hours passed, and Bella's condition remained steady. Enzo stayed by her side, holding her hand.
Don Vincenzo couldn't shake the feeling that Bella's connection to his twins was more than coincidence. He felt an overwhelming sense of protectiveness.
As the sun set, casting a warm glow over the hospital room, Don Vincenzo leaned forward. He gently brushed a strand of hair from Bella's forehead.
"You're safe now, Bella. I'll never let anyone harm you," he whispered, his voice filled with conviction.
Bella's eyelids fluttered open, her gaze locking onto Don Vincenzo's. For a moment, they shared a silent understanding.
Enzo's eyes met Don Vincenzo's, filled with gratitude. "Thank you, Don Vincenzo. You're her family."
Don Vincenzo's eyes welled up with tears. "She's my family... my blood."
Bella's hand trembled in Enzo's. "Uncle... I remember something."
Don Vincenzo's heart skipped a beat. "What is it, Bella?"
Bella's voice barely above a whisper. "A face... a familiar face."
