The Lost One

University

Jasmine had moved into residency and to her surprise she didn’t have a roommate. She got an entire room to herself. She unpacked her things and went to the main hall. She saw a bulletin about frost week. She thought to herself, new her and new life, and decided she would participate.

She spent all week participating in fun events life the foam run and getting to know tons of different people. She even made a few friends, Alex was one of them. She lived just down the hall from her and was a second year student studying history. The week was flying by, it was already Thursday. “Are you coming to the HUB tonight?” Alex asking turning to Jasmine. “The HUB?” Jasmine replied. “It is the university club, it’s on campus and is the best and only place to go on a Thursday night. It will be so much fun, please come with me?” Alex basically begged Jasmine. “Of course I’ll go with you, saying no it’s not an option during frosh week. I made a promise to myself.”

As Jasmine walked into her room, Alex continued to head down the hall to her room “pick you up at 8!!!” She yelled.

Jasmine was nervous, she had never been to a club and had no clue what to wear. Being at odds with what to do clothing wise and how to do her makeup and hair, she decided to go down the hall to Alex’s room. She knocked on the door, as the door opened and Alex appeared “Help me please…” Jasmine whimpered. “Are you okay?” Alex asked. “ I don’t have a clue what I am doing…” Jasmine said shyly. Alex squealed in excitement “we’ll why didn’t you say so!! Come on it, we are having a makeup party before we leave!!!” So excited, Alex grabbed Jasmines hand pulling her in and kicking the door shut behind her. She frantically ran around the room, grabbing different clothes, shoes, makeup and every straightener she could get her hands on. Holding different articles of clothing up to Jasmines body, she finally stated “this one is perfect!” And tossed it on the bed, flinging the perfect pair of heels next to the dress. “Let’s get started with your hair and makeup now” Alex gleed as she pulled Jasmine into the bathroom.

“All done!” Alex shouted proud of her makeover on Jasmine, “take a look…”

As Jasmine looked at her reflection in the mirror, she could not believe her eyes. Was this the same girl looking back at her? It was breath taking. Her hair was perfectly straight, her eyes a Smokey black with viper red lips. She looked like she belonged in the movies. “How did you even do this? It’s amazing” Jasmine said utterly stunned. “It’s all you girl, I just added some sexiness hear and there, but you are naturally the perfect canvas.”

“Thank you so much!! I can’t wait to head out now!” Jasmine exclaimed.

“Then let’s get this show on the road!”

The walk to the club was about 5 minutes. Within the 5 minute walk, there were guys whistling at the girls, calling them sexy and asking for their numbers. Jasmine has never had so much attention in her life, and she wasn’t going to lie, it felt amazing. She felt like she was on top of the world.

The girls waited in line and finally got into the club. “First things first, let’s grab a drink” Alex said, swooping Jasmine over to the bartender and ordering two drinks for them. They drank them fairly quickly, and then headed out to the dance floor. They were dancing up a storm together, many guys trying to cut it and dance with them. But neither girl cared, they were just there to have fun.

Until Jasmine was it with a familiar feeling. Completely caught off guard by the scent that invaded her senses, that familiar scent she had long since forgotten about. She closed her eyes and slowly took it in, the smell of fresh oak and after shave, remembering his smile and his voice. Wishing it was him, but knowing in her mind it was not. As she opened her eyes, she was completely caught off guard. Maybe she had drank too much or her mind was playing tricks, but it was him standing in front of her.
