CHAPTER 43
Sometimes I wonder if it's foolish to trust a man I've only just met, someone I've spent mere moments with. Yet somehow, I find myself placing more faith in him than in people I've known for years... people I should have learned to trust by now.
There's something about the way he looks at me, the steadiness in his voice, that makes my careful walls crumble without warning.
"We'll take your mother out of that ward," saad niya habang nasa office ako at sinusubukang mag-focus sa trabaho kahit na hindi ko magawa.
I let out a heavy sigh. Araw-araw niya akong binibisita sa department ko para balitaan ako ng tungkol sa imbestigasyon. Bahala na lang ang mga tao na gawan ako ng tsismis, tutal bagay naman kaming dalawa.
