"Your son, Marcus has always been such a sweetheart. Any girl will be lucky to have him as a life partner!" "Yes! I've seen him grow up and I can say that he has all the qualities of a good son and husband!" "All three men in the knight family have unique personas." Alice laughed along with the ladies who complemented her youngest son. It was obviously not genuine laugh and neither was the complement was from their heart. Surrounding the group of hight profile ladies was a glamour that only they could afford to experience. The party hall was filled with exquisite decorations and elites of United States. Waiters roamed around with Champagne, wine and other drinks for the guests. The occasion was Elliot's engagement with Nigella. Elliott had already proposed Nigella and today they were announcing it to the public. It was Alice's idea to hold a party. Unfortunately, Nigella's parents couldn't make it, and promised to attend the wedding. "We are excited to see Elliot's wedding hahah." "Marcus is next right?" "Does he have a girlfriend yet? My sister's daughter is very beautiful..." Alice kept her smile on for a long time. It was only half past seven in the evening and the party had just started. She glanced around, half listening to the flattering served at her, looking for the main characters of the party. Elliott and Nigella were mingling around quiet well. Although Elliott's impatience was evident in his face, Nigella was keeping him on his toes. Alice smiled in satisfaction and decided to endure a little more for the sake of her children. "Marcus is still young. He has a lot of time to look for true love." Alice countered all their suggestions in one go. Her husband soon came to her rescue and took her away other guests from his business. Although she was bored to death with their conversation that only revolved around new ideas and profits, it was still better than those women coming for his youngest. Maximus was accompanying Amara and little Matthias. The guests were all left speechless at Matthias' good behaviour and speaking. At almost three years old, Matthias was already in kindergarten. He was way ahead of his classmates and Alice felt proud of having an intelligent grandson! Her two sons had settled with their significant others. They were happy in life and Alice couldn't have asked for anything else. However, her third and youngest son was giving her a headache recently. Looking back, she found Marcus chatting up with Pearl in a corner, trying to avoid any form of human contact with others. In his hand was a glass of red wine. "Should I call Marcus? He hasn't spoken to anyone." Alice asked her husband. She was worried that Marcus won't socialise. Her son was as normal as he could get but sometimes he just falls back into a shell. He has his own moments when he decides to distance himself with others. In that said corner, Marcus was trying his best to tune out Pearl's requests. He stuck to this corner as soon as he was done speaking about Elliott and Nigella's beautiful relationship. The obligatory speech given by the two brothers was already bothersome. Now he was stuck with Pearl. "I told you already. I won't go." Marcus refused for the tenth time. From this corner, he was able to see the whole hall. Every guest. Marcus' eyes lingered over Maximus and Amara, then Elliott and Nigella. Both looked happy as hell. Marcus was bored to death. "Marcus, don't be like this. I already promised my friends about this trip and you know my dad. He says I am not allowed to go unless you come along!" Pearl stomped her foot in anger. "You are not a child anymore." Marcus pointed out. Pearl huffed, "Tell that to my father!" There was a moment of silence and then a cry, "Marcus it's just a cruise trip. Just two days! I am not asking anything else. My dad is paranoid ad hell! Just come along, you can just sleep off the two days u don't mind at all!" "I can just sleep at home. I don't need to go on a cruise to sleep." "You are being unreasonable!" "So what if I am?" Marcus smirked. Pearl snorted, "Your image is so wrong. Wait until the world finds out what the good boy Marcus Knight is like in real life!" Marcus was already done teasing. He patted her head, slightly messing up her delicate hairdo, "I will go. Don't cry now." "I'm not crying, you jerk!" "Watch what you say to me. Your cruise trip is in my hands." Marcus swaggered away from his corner and finally joined the human society. He lifted the glass of wine and took a small sip. A sweet taste filled his mouth, leaving him in a pleasant mood. Matthias saw his uncle come out of the shadows and left his father's hand. He came running at Marcus and held his hand instead. Maximus panicked when his son left his hand, but relaxed when he saw him running towards Marcus. He nodded at Marcus and continued to talk to others. "Uncle Marcus!" Matthias called cheerfully. Marcus smiled at the little boy who looked nothing like his father at this age. Matthias turned out to be a perfect copy of Amara. His face was gentle and soft. His eyes brighter than Amara and his speech polite and respectful. "Uncle, are you going to get some food?" Matthias' shinning eyes stared up at him. Marcus grinned and nodded. "Yes. I am going to get some food. Do you want to join me?" Matthias nodded. This party had exhausted his little brain and body. He needed food but he didn't want to interrupt his parents while they were talking to their friends. So he came to Marcus. "Let's go!" Marcus pointed to the buffet table and leaded his nephew there as if leading him for a battle. At the same time, a pair of brother and sister, who hadn't been in New York for long, entered the venue. Gia's dazzling smile added extra shine to the atmosphere as soon as her presence was noticed. Dylan walked in next to her, matching her steps. They grabbed attention as if it was their birthright. "Look, there is aunt Alice!" Gia excitedly tapped her brother's hand that was holding hers. "Yes Gia. I saw her. And thanks to you, she saw us too." Dylan smiled. "Let's go greet her!" Gia strutted over to Alice. Alice saw the beautiful girl, dressed in a rose gold chiffon gown. Her face was glowing like she had seen the happiest dream, her mouth curled in a smile. Alice recognised the girl from far away. When she approached, Alice hugged her. "Gia, it's been so long. Thank you for coming." Gia chuckled, "No need to thank us aunty! I wanted to visit for a while now. But work was holding me back." "I am glad you could make it." Alice saw Dylan next to Gia and hugged him as well, "Dylan looks a bit taller every time I see him. You are taller than Marcus now!" At the mention of her youngest son, Gia's heart raced. Her excitement reached it's peak when she thought of Marcus being under the same roof as her. "Aunty, where is Marcus?" Gia asked, her eyes were already looking around for him.
