The lodge in Montana looked completely unchanged from six months ago. Same heavy timber beams. Same massive stone hearth. Same freezing snow falling silently through the black pines outside. Everything looked exactly the same, but the reality was that nothing was the same. I definitely wasn't. Selene had shown up two days early to run logistics. She had messed with the main hall—dragging the heavy leather chairs out of their usual rows and forcing them into a much tighter, enclosed circle. She wanted it less corporate.
