“You don’t know?” Joel was beyond belief.
All the confidence from earlier was gone. As Zara stood there with the scent of pine trees filling the evening air, she felt a paralyzing helplessness.
“What do you mean, you don’t know?” Joel pressed on.
Zara was not making any sense to him. “Is this because of what the White Seer said?”
He too had to admit to himself that the whole occurrence was eerie and just thinking of it made his skin jump.
