Elder Aliya had said that her ancestors had once betrayed Alpha Draven’s ancestors and that was the beginning of the curse, a curse that she could only break by dying.
Yet, the man she was killing by being alive was thanking her for living.
It was not until she felt the warm liquid zigzagging down her cheeks that she realized that she was crying.
She sniffled and wiped her cheeks, “Please don’t die, hold on, I will find a way to save you,” she said squeezing his hands tighter but Alpha Draven was no longer with her.
He had fallen unconscious again.
It had taken him everything to fight off the darkness and then hold his consciousness long enough to see her, now he was exhausted.
