Chapter 10 - Meeting the Peterson Family

I fix myself and take a shower after papa called me. Feeling the sooth of the warm water pass through my body, as it help my muscles relax and calms me more. I close my eyes, and let the overwhelming emotion I had to be taken.

It seems this week had many surprises, and feels like it won't keep me have a normal weekend.

I clean myself after and prepare my dress as my dad's request for the dinner. I applied a light make up and get my clutch bag after and decided to use my car.

I get inside my car and started the engine, Checking myself on the rearview mirror before I manuever and drive away to my dads mansion.

Kathie arrive at her parents mansion at exactly 7 as she told.

Walking inside she notice her parents. Allan is fixing his husband collar, as Albert look at the mirror to see if it's ok.

Kathie smile at her parents small gesture, as she walk near them. Her heels did not help kathies plan in surprising the couple as it creates sounds that cause her dad's to look at her direction.

Both Allan and Albert stop at what they're doing, as Albert open his arm, and Kathie take a step and hug his dad.

"You look gorgeous honey" Allan said as he let his hand slide on her daughter's hair.

Kathie pull herself from the hug and turn around as she stop and lightly chuckle.

"Of course she is, she got her looks from us, were both handsome" her papa responded as he put his middle finger on his chin.

Allan just laugh, and bring both her daughter and husband to the limos direction. The driver open the limos door, As they got inside and drove to their destination. The Peterson residence.

"You don't look too bad yourself" Kathie said as she look at her dad. Her dad's both smile.

Allan and Albert wear a matching suit of tuxedo. Allan wear a black and white cross strip tuxedo, as Albert wear a black hue suit, while Kathie wear a white dress.

They arrived on a huge mansion, the limos door open as Albert assist Kathie out of the car and walk inside the Peterson Mansion.

They've been welcome by a maid and a butler as they lead them inside a huge room where the dinner will occur.

As soon as they enter, Switzer family saw their friend the Peterson. Eubert and Jwescka, both welcomed them.

Eubert shakes both Allan and Albert hands, as Jwescka gave them hug together with Kathie. The Peterson couple smiled.

"So, let's start our dinner, you've been busy since the business got bigger it's rear to have your family here, so it's our pleasure to have this opportunity, come on let's not waste our time, shall we?." Eubert speak as they walk and reach the table and seated.

"Likewise Eubert, " Dad Allan said as they laugh.

"So what's the latest project, I heard both of you is in Brazil for 3 mos" Jwescka said as she join the conversation.

"Well, the new branch is a success, the new manager and employee we hired and trained are pretty good so we don't have to worry after our visit ended, we also really missed our Kathie so that's why we do what we can to build it stronger in time so we can have some moments for her" Papa Albert answered as he look at me. I just smiled back as foods are now being served by their maids.

"Oh your sweet daughter grown so fast, and she's beautiful" jwescka complimented as she look at me, and her husband nodded as he agree.

"It's been so long Kathie, your parents never stop on bragging and telling stories about you on us. Everytime the topic landed on you, they just lost it" Jwescka added as the adults laugh and it made me chuckle.

"Why not?, She's an angel honey, how's your college life Kathie?." Eubert ask  as they started to eat.

"It's perfect sir, paper works, busy schedule, and such" Kathie responded and smiled, as she put some of the vegetable on her mouth.

"No, no , no, Kathie, no can do. drop the sir, call us your aunt and uncle, we've been your parents friends since highschool so you don't need to be formal" Eubert said. Kathie just nodded.

They just continue the catch up and telling their story on how they meet and decided to build the business. I learned the Petersons Company involved in making machines, gadgets, and technology, they even have their own product of phones, tablets, and loptop.

The conversation continue as they told some funny and awkward stories they had experience, as if they're making a shameful remark as they laugh and had a fun dinner.

After a while they got along and decided to continue the chat in the garden.

"Darling, do you think Sam can make it? She's late again, that kid really doesn't know how to make her way on time" Jwescka said as she lightly shake her head.

"She'll come love, don't worry ok?" Eubert said as he wrap his arm on his wife's shoulder.

"Yeah, your right she better come or else-"  Jwescka hasn't finish what she's saying.

"Or else what ? mom" A sudden voice counter back as we snap our heads to the voice direction.

Sam rolled her eyes on what she heard, she started to walk toward her parents, but suddenly stop as she saw a beautiful pair of hazel eyes looking at her.

Those eyes that she's been dreaming and preserved in her mind as they meet on an incident long time ago. She stared to Kathie as her heart makes a sound that she never heard before.

"Here she is" Eubert approach her daughter as he hug her.

Sam hug her dad back but never remove her gaze on Kathie.

"It's her" Sam said after her dad pull back and unconsciously Sam walk to Kathie as Kathie step back, But Sam reach for her and hug Kathie tightly.

"It's you, I can't believe this!, after all this year's I never thought I would have the chance to see you again.", Sam said with tremble in her voice, as she still hug Kathie, while Kathie feel shocked and surprise.

"Can't b-breath" Kathie said, and Sam immediately pull back herself and lightly laugh, as she wipe the tear that form in her eyelid.

"What's happening here?" Allan said followed by his husband as they arrive after making a brief tour to the garden.

"It's nothing, Allan, You see our daughter here is been searching for your child all along. And I think one of her dreams come true" Eubert answer and smiled deviously as his wife elbowed his side.

Kathie who doesn't know what they're talking, decided to keep her silence. She doesn't want to make a fool out of herself in the whole confusing meeting.

Infact she's tired on everything that happen on her for the past few days, she think it's enough not to add another.

She just don't feel comfortable, but nonetheless she took a quick glance to the young lady that still infront of her, she never remember her face. She think it is younger than her base on its appearance, how come this young lady know her.

"Kathie, you don't remember do you?" Jwescka broke the silent as they all manage to sit to make a brief explanation.

"This young lady her is our only daughter, Sam Justine Peterson, and if you don't remember, you saved her from a fire in an orphanage a long time ago when you were still a child" Jwescka finished.

A sudden memory flash on Kathies head, the house and wildfire, the moon in the night as she run to save herself, and a kid she hold on her arms.

Kathies eye widen as she snap her head to Sams direction, Sam stare to Kathie as she smile.

"Yo-your that child from the fire, the one I bump in while I run" Kathie can't believe this, how did she forgot it.

"But how did you know me, I don't even tell you my name, am I?" She ask and frown.

"I ask about you on my mother " Sam responded and smile.

"So the women who picked you from me is aunt Jwescka, your mother" Kathie said in disbelief.

"Yes, sweetie, and I haven't said thank you for saving my childs life, infact you change her Kathie. She become more mature after that incident, and she doesn't stop talking about you on how you manage to save her. She didn't even stop bugging me to pay you some visits and take her with me at the hospital when you were admitted" Aunt Jwescka answered.

"Mom, stop!" Sam said as she blush, and feel embarrassed at her mother's revelation.

"What? It's the truth though, you even cried when I refuse " Aunt Jwescka arc her brows at her daughter, as Sam groan.

Jwescka look at Kathie once more.

"So thank you" she finished and smiled at Kathie feeling pleased on how she manage to influence sam.

"Thank you honey" uncle Eubert added and hugged Kathie.

"And we're the one who bring you to the hospital dearie, you lost your consciousness after you scape the fire." Dad Allan said.

"And he even got panick by just seeing you lying on the ground" Papa Albert added and chuckle.

"And after that we found out about you, and decided to make you our own daughter. So we waste no time on the process of adopting you" Dad Allan said, as they both smile.

So the fire makes me cross their path. Now I realize that it's really fate that I meet them. There's no such thing as accident.

I just smiled at them as my respond.

"Better you two have some catch up with each other, let us adult have some talking while you two do some stuff or make a tour in our garden " Aunt Jwescka suggested as we all stood and follow her instructions.
