Chapter 3 - Eventful Day

"How tiring!!" Nancy said.

Finally the first day in Winter Hood University has ended. We are now in a parking lot, and are about to go home. Sure enough 1st day is so draining, but somehow enjoyable.

"Look Kathie, I think Nancy need some feisty dinner after the tiring day, wasn't it fair if we have some and crash on a nearby resto on our way home?" Peter, said with a serious look.

I rolled my eyes , aware that the young man is the one who wanted the idea not the other way around.

"Look, Peter, I might like the idea, but I'm not sure if I can, both my dad's just arrived this morning, after 3mos being in Brazil for business, and I promise to see them as soon as I can" I told Peter that are now wearing a disappointed look.

"Its fine, Kath, you don't need to oblique this binge eating monster.-"

"Hey!" Peter interrupted Nancy, as the young lady shot him a serious look, she rolled her eyes before snapping her head in my direction.

" as I say Kathie, were fine, go have some fun with your dads , we know you miss them" Nancy close the conversation, while the other one are mopping and decided to just let things slide for today.

Well Peter is persistent sometimes, he want what he want, but not like a spoiled brat or anything.

The ride ended by laughing on some story we encounter the first day, as I kiss both the cheek of my friends to say goodbye for now, and decided to prepare myself and go to my dad's mansion. I have to change my clothes first, so I decided to stop on my Penthouse.

Pretty much. Silence, and emptiness nothing more to describe as I enter. But somehow it gives me comfort , it means having my own private space.

Looking at the mirror, Kathie check at the cloths she wear, A tight black jeans that compliment her figure, soldier green colored boots, and white crop top, underneath her black windbreaker jacket for her well tone body.

Surely the lady choose the outfit for the choice of using her arc vector motorbike,  Kathie can be consider as a rich wealthy kid for being the only daughter of  the owner of Switzer wine company that gain millions annually as their profit.

But Kathie never acted like one of those bitchy rich kid. Rather use her wealth on helping other, like orphanage or hospitals.

A heart of gold , despite of having her dark past, being an orphan once, and experiencing the life in street, before her biological parents being killed, and her siblings separation. The most heartbreaking moment in her life. It gives her strength and become determine to find them, her siblings. A promise to her parents.

A serious look appear on mirrors reflection, as the painful moment, slowly repeat in her head.

The face of those people who kill her parents. One day I'll hunt them down, Kathie thought as she trace her finger on the side of her belly button, a visible birthmark with some pattern appear. It's a symbol pass for every generation on one of the chosen child of their family.

The mysterious power she had as the supposedly future head to lead the family is still unknown for her. Her biological father told it to her since she was Young. Yet she has no idea how to use it, or if it is really true or exist.

But she couldn't  just rely on that, so she trained herself hard in some martial arts and master taekwondo. Even being a doctor is in her plan, for it might be useful when the right time comes.

Kathie know that those people who killed her parents are still searching for her, so they could kill her, the reason why she and her siblings needed to be separated.

Now anger are visible in her face, as a single tear pass down Kathies cheek, she slowly close her eyes to control her emotion. To suppress the anger. Of being weak, lonely, and hopeless. All to herself, but she surpass her demons, and are now in a right age to do the right thing.

Kathie wipe her tears, and proceed to get her motor, she need to see her dad's, the people who give love and care that change the coldness she have in her heart.

But not all, as she still choose people around her. That she needed to offer a cold shoulder countless times to avoid the company of other.

Wearing the helmet she have, as she drove straight to her dad's mansion.

Her dad Allan and Albert Switzer is kathies adopted parents. Meeting them 9 years ago is true blessing for her. As if God send a guardian that will make her able to stand again and to do her goal and promises.

Both her parents knows her past, she never kept secrets as this is her way to show respect to them. She loves them like a real parents, and both couple love Kathie as their own daughter. They are perfect for the lady, a parents every child could wish, sure they are gays but she see how truly the couple love each other. And Kathie love and respected them more for that.

As she come to conclusion, that the only thing that matter for a man is to satisfy it's need and desire as it live. But who would be able to easily find a pure and true love?, Surely only few.

And somehow, Kathie wished to have the same significant other in the future. Though it is still far behind her goal, and last thing she wants now.

Hopping off from her motorbike, Kathie smile as she reach her destination. A fountain infront of their mansion. Garden in both sides. And forest like at the end. The mansion are huge and are consider as British inspire design, in New York.

The lady remove her helmet, as the couple welcome her, and hug her once more as they enter the house.

"How have you been dearie?, We apologize for being not around for such a long time, and we truly miss you" dad Allan said as he reach my hand on the table and lightly squeeze it showing his sincerity, as he look at me.

"Oh, come on dad, it's fine, I'm fine and don't worry your little dearie learnt to be independent, in fact I'm starting getting to used on my living right now, don't get me wrong dad, it's not like I don't love having you around, but God knows I'm not a child anymore neither a teen. So for me it's a new stepping stone of learning dad, minus the cooking" I laugh at the last part as I remember trying to cook the dish I search but failed miserably and ended up eating in a nearby resto.

Papa Albert giggle at my statement, as the atmosphere got lighted and we enjoyed the dinner as we continue  catching up.

"So ahm, Kathie sweetheart" papa Albert speak to get my attention as me and dada Allan stop laughing on what we are talking and focus on my papa that are now wiping his lips with the table scarf.

"We are about to meet one of our most best business partner this weekend, the Peterson Family. They are our family friend since we started the business, and we agreed on having a family dinner with them. So, I was just thinking if it's not too much , cause we know how busy college is, but I'm still going to ask if you may come with us for the dinner. We'll go there in 8, Saturday" Papa finished as he waited for my answer.

I smile at how thoughtful my parents are. How can I say no to them!, I smiled and answer, "Yes, of course pa, I will spend time with you and dada as I can, and I know that you want me to somehow know how to manage the company and have some insights about it, so its one of a great opportunity to meet your partner pa and learn some about our business" I said as I look at both of them, having the satisfaction look on what they hear from their loving daughter.

Allan and Albert feel touch to their daughter, time really goes fast like a thunder, they can see how their daughter have grown. And becoming more and more mature, and independent as days pass by. And they know, that their daughter will someday become a great responsible adult that will manage their empire.

The couple both stand and hug their daughter in each side, as Allan kiss kathies temple. "We love you Kathie, we really do" said Albert. While Kathie both hug them back having a contented smile on her face, as she say she love them back.

Nothing could make a great night end than having those people that love you the most, as much as how you love them back. How lucky I am to have both of them, Kathie thought.
