"I forgot to buy you a bicycle, Allianna. But don't worry. I'm sure you'll be able to use it tomorrow. Right now, you're going to go to Daylon first." I was stunned because Aunt's words still did not enter my brain. Aunt looked at Daylon. "You heard what I said, didn't you?" Daylon did nothing but nod. When Aunt entered the house, I looked at Daylon, who looked at me seriously while riding the bike. "Are you going to get in, or are you just staring at me?" I suddenly came to life and started riding behind Daylon's bike. Daylon is in grade 11 while I'm in grade 10 because I stopped studying for a year. I'm ashamed to go in because I should be in grade 11 now. It's not my fault that I was stuck for a year. After a few minutes, the bike suddenly stopped. "Get off." Because Daylon's voice was strange, I immediately followed his order. When I got down, Daylon was looking at me seriously, so I frowned. What will it do to me? "I don't want anyone to know that we live together in the same house because if anyone finds out. You will be afraid of what I will do to you." I frowned and crossed my arms. "And what if they find out now? Maybe they won't think of anything. So what's the problem with us living together in the same house? Why? Is there a law that prohibits men and women from living together in the same house? Or two people who don't know each other?" Daylon shook his head and looked at me with no emotion. "I don't want them to know I have an i***t in my house. So if you don't want something bad to happen to you. Keep quiet." "Wh--." I couldn't finish what I would say when he suddenly started his bike. I tried to chase him, but he sped up. So I should have caught up. Tita said take me to school, and then I'll be here now for a walk. I need to find out where that school is. Didn't he think I might get lost because I just came here? Then I need to find out the name of the school I will go to. I'm nervous because I might be studying at another school. I trained at the Baptist Academy. "Aunt's son," I promised weakly when I thought about Daylon's behavior and Demitri's. I guess I'll be studying at the Catholic Academy immediately because their attitude is different. I still can't believe no one inherited their habits if Tita has another child, even if she is no longer a girl, as long as they both have the same attitude. As I walked, I saw students in the same uniform as mine. So I followed them. I ran too to keep up with them and might lose them. I saw that they stood at a closed gate and were talking to a guard. Don't tell me I'm late. It's my first day, and I'm already late. It's Daylon's fault. I wouldn't be late if he didn't let me off his bike. When Aunt buys me a bike, I will go ahead of her. I promise myself that I will only be late now—just one time. I can't add more. I was about to walk towards the gathering of students when I saw the wall of the school, as well as the big trashcan. Can I do what I think? The trashcan won't roll when I stand it up, right? If my plan works. I will be listed on time and hope it works. I slowly walked to the school's side so the guard wouldn't see me because he was busy talking to students, so he won't see me and notice me. I put the big trash next to the wall when I got to the side. Fortunately, the heavy garbage won't fall over when I stand on top of the trash. I threw my bag against the wall first so the trashcan wouldn't weigh on me. After I went up, I first looked to see if anyone was inside the wall and saw a man holding my bag. I swallowed when he suddenly looked at me. "Get down from there." I laughed softly and crossed the wall. "Who told you that you could go through there?" Daylon added. Yes, Daylon was the man who saw me. I'm unlucky now. Why is this man outside? Shouldn't you be studying? "What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be in your classroom?" Daylon frowned and grabbed my wrist, bringing his face closer to mine. "I should be the one asking you that." I swallowed because his face was so torn. What will he do to me? Will he kiss me? No, I won't let myself get too close to his face. I stared into his eyes until he turned away from me. He tightened his grip on my wrist and pulled me towards the school gate. "Wait, why are you taking me there? Let go of me." I tried to remove my wrist from Daylon's hand but couldn't because he gripped me. "Mr. Quinter? what are you doing here? Then who is this girl?" the guard promised Daylon. This guy is famous in this school. Daylon is renowned because the squatting students think I already know. What do these girls like about Daylon? It's even a habit that I lost right away. "New student from grade 10 section C." Section C? Doesn't area C mean lower grades? Did I get a low score, so I was placed in C? It's terrible. It's still hard to adjust myself in that classroom because I'm sure that the school is nasty and noisy and doesn't know how to organize. "What is he doing here?" "He's late, so join him in the queue." The guard frowned and looked at me evilly. I just smiled at him so he wouldn't get mad at me. "Alright, I'll take care of him. You can let go of his pulse." Daylon immediately removed his hand from my wrist, and I smiled even more. I put my face close to his ear. "Maybe the next time you suddenly touch my hand." After I said that, he left. I can hear the students talking. Why did I help him, Daylon? Who am I to be touched by Daylon? What are they saying? Is Daylon too famous here? "Miss, step aside, Miss Hillaree." The guard pointed out who Hillaree was. I went to her side and imitated the squat they were doing. "You and Daylon know each other?" Hillaree asked me in a low voice. "No, he just saw me crossing the wall. That's why I came here." "I've done that before, but he caught me too." "Ahh?" "President Daylon is the only one who goes around the school to see who the outside students are because he is the only person afraid of him." "President?" I feel like a fool asking something to the person next to me. Then my question is like crazy. "Daylon Quinter is the president of the Supreme Student Government of Catholic Academy." I was right in my mind. I went to a Catholic school. This school is fine. The students seem nice too, except for the students who always gossip. "Were you surprised?" I looked at Hillaree, who was looking at me seriously. "Daylon is the smartest here, and everyone who studies here knows him." "He's smart." "He's just not smart. He is also good at basketball. Others say he has everything because he has more than good looks. It is rich here. I'm just wondering why he still doesn't like a girl." "Couldn't he be gay?" Hillaree laughed. "You think Daylon is gay? What you say is impossible because Daylon is a man. Maybe he hasn't seen the girl for him yet, so he hasn't become a boyfriend yet. Or maybe studying is more important to him, so he doesn't have time to have a woman." "Maybe he's afraid of compliments, so he doesn't want to dance." Hillaree and I laughed out loud, and then we noticed that the students were looking at us, as well as the guard. "Can you tell us what you're laughing at?" The guard said seriously, so Hillaree and I remained silent. "Fix your squat. If you don't fix that, I will increase your squatting time," he added. When the guard was no longer looking at us, Hillaree suddenly nudged me softly so that I looked at her. I saw his face holding back a laugh, so I stopped laughing. What is the person next to me? If we both get caught, our time will increase. ** "You're only in grade 10, aren't you? Does that mean you're only fifteen?" I scratched my head because of Hillaree's question. If only I knew that he would ask me questions like this. I no longer asked him to help me find my classroom. "Yes?" "Why ask? Are you not sure?" I followed Hillaree's laughter and answered 'yes' to her question. "Because I was the first person you met in this school. I will be your first friend. I'm Hillaree, from STEM 11 section A."
