Saguaro
Even though Rex wasn’t sure if he wanted to stay in Tucson for much longer, he did know he wanted to be in Louisa’s general vicinity at least for the next few months, so he and Morris moved out of the hotel room and took a more spacious, cleaner, and brighter apartment in the north of town, not too far from Louisa’s house. He bought a car, used but sound, which he drove to Phoenix every day, two hours north, where he practiced his profession, then returned home. While he was gone he left Morris in Louisa’s care.
Louisa and Morris got on very well. She bought him toys and read stories to him, put him down for a nap and later played finger games with him and sang to him. She took him to a doctor to make sure he was healthy and strong. All in all, she was exactly the mother to Mo
