Finally

Once I get in the hotel, I walk up to the person and rent a room for the day. I had to tell them that I didn't have my wallet, that someone stole it. They took pity on me and gave me the room without seeing an ID.

I finally get to the room and its amazing. I can take a shower and sleep in a real bed for the first time in years. But first, I wanna call Uncle Davis. I pick up the phone and dial the number he gave me. He picks up on the third ring.

"Hello?"

"Uncle Davis, it's me."

"Hey kiddo! Don't tell me where you are so they cant make me tell them where you are when they watch the footage and see I talked to you before you left. I knew when you renounced. Phoenix is pissed. He has everyone out looking for you."

"All I really know right now is I found a city and stopped to take a break anyways. I'm not staying here long just long enough to rest for a little while before I keep going." I told him honestly.

"Okay good, get you some rest and keep going. You were going for a long time before you called. Stay safe and keep me posted on how you are doing. Keep going for your parents, you deserve the closure. I love you Ana."

That makes me tear up. Nobody has called me Ana since my parents died. "I will, I love you too. I'm gonna take a quick shower and rest for a few hours. I'll call you soon."

"Be safe kiddo." he says before hanging up.

I walk to the bathroom and turn on the shower. I am in desperate need of being clean. I trip out of my dirty torn clothes and step under the hot spray. The water on the shower floor turns brown with all of the dirt and grime cakes on me. It took me several times of washing my hair and body before I felt clean enough.

Stepping out of the shower I wrap a towel and walk up to the mirror. The sight in front of me makes me cringe. I'm to skinny from not eating enough and I am in need of a hair cut. I towel dry, put my change of clothes on, put the picture of my parents on the bedside table and throw my dirty clothes in my bag.

The bed looks so comfortable! I crawl under the covers and as soon as my head hits the pillow, I'm out like a light.

When I wake up, I look at the clock and its already 5pm. I need to get something to eat and get going. I know I'm not very far from pack territory and it wouldn't be to long before they are in this city looking for me.

I put my parents picture back in my bag and head back to the hotel lobby. I don't know what there is to eat around here.

I ask the person in the lobby and they tell me that there is a McDonald's right around the corner. I walk out of the building and go around the corner and sure enough there is the McDonald's.

Going in, I order a double cheeseburger, small fries and small drink, sit in a corner and quickly eat my food. After I'm done eating I throw away my trash grab my bag and go to keep walking. Luckily for me, I saw a city map on the corner before I walked into the restaurant.

Using the map, I figure out which way I need to go and set off on my way. By the time I'm hitting city limits its already dark again. Again heading back into the woods that surround the city for some coverage. I need to stay off the roads incase they are looking for me.

After walking for another few hours I come up on a stream, deciding to take a break. I sit on the ground overlooking the stream and watch the water while resting. I'm sitting there for a while when I decide its time to start moving again. Standing up, I go to start walking again when I hear something move.

I can smell that its another werewolf. s**t! I need to run! I start running when I hear the popping of someone shifting.

"STOP!" The man yells. I keep running. I don't want to turn around, I don't want to see one of Phoenix's warriors coming to take me back to that dreaded place. I refuse to go back.

"I SAID STOP!" The man yells again.

I stop dead in my tracks. I cant move, I'm to scared. The man is walking towards me. Every step making my heart drop a little further. When he gets in front of me, I can see that isn't a man from my old pack. I internally sign with relief seeing that.

"Who are you and why are you on our land?" The man asks me when he is in front of me.

"I'm sorry sir, I didn't realize I was on someones territory."

"You didn't answer my questions. Who the hell are you and why are you on our territory? He asks me again. I can hear the anger raising in his voice.

"I'm sorry again sur, I didn't mean to avoid the questions. My name is Anastasia Elaine Mathis. I am running from my old pack. I didn't mean to intrude. As I said, I wasn't aware that I was on anyone's territory." I told the man honestly.

He grabs my arm, making mt flinch. "Why are you running from your old pack? What did you do?

"I am running from them because I was treated as a slave by the alpha family after my parents died. I was forced to do all of the cooking, cleaning and anything else they didn't want to do. I was also beaten by them." I told him

"If this is true I would like you to speak with my alpha. But be warned he will know if you are lying and we will get the truth from you one way or the other."

"Yes sir, I understand. I am being truthful."

"Very well. The name is Drake, Ms. Anastasia. Please stay right here while I link my alpha, Alpha Caspian, and check if he can see you."

"Alright Drake. I will stay right here and wait for you to contact him." I tell him.

I do as asked and stay in the same spot he left me in while he takes a couple of steps away. I see his eyes cloud over signaling that he is mindlinking and know he is talking to his alpha. It only takes a couple of minutes before he is walking back over to me.

"Okay Ms. Anastasia, I talked to my Alpha and told him what you told me. He would like for me to bring you to his office so he can speak with you."

"Am I in trouble? I really didn't mean to impose, I can leave if y'all would like. It's not a problem." I questioned Drake.

"Like I said, as long as you are being honest, you have nothing to fear. Alpha Caspian has a big heart and likes to help those in need. He may offer you sanctuary and protection from your old pack. But again, make sure you are being honest, because if not he will know and he will make you regret lying to us. I hope for your sake you are being completely honest." Drake warned.

"I have no reason to not be honest Drake. Alright, lets go meet your alpha." Hopefully this goes well
