I heard a gasp and assumed it was Darion.
“Tamisan–”
Dr Nambiri cut him off. “Before you talk to her, I want to let you know we have been communicating with her by asking questions and she responds by blinking twice for yes and once for no. This may be of some help to you. Also, she cannot see anything.”
Another gasp. “What?”
“We think it’s temporary. From the flash. There is some mild retina damage, but it should heal.”
My hearts sunk. What if it doesn’t heal? I needed to calm down and try to slow those beeps down somehow.
Darion’s voice sounded closer as he thanked the doctor. “Tamisan. I am so glad you are awake. Can you hear me?”
