I walked the boxes to the front of the bakery where Mom’s car was parked. Luckily, she had already unlocked it so I opened the hatch and start stacking the boxes carefully. Troy came up behind me with an armful and placed his stack next to mine. “Your girlfriend is getting on my nerves,” I muttered and walked back to the bakery. Troy laughed and called out, “She can be fun, can’t she?” “Those are not the words I was thinking of,” I growled and stomped inside. Troy and I continued loading the car until every last pastry box was accounted for.
