Bleeding Emotions

1068 Words
The training grounds of the Silvercrest Pack were already alive when Kiara arrived. The sharp sound of wooden weapons clashing echoed across the wide clearing. Warriors moved in practiced patterns—some sparring in pairs, others running drills, their voices filled with energy and confidence. To anyone watching, it was an ordinary morning of warrior training. But to Kiara, it felt like walking onto a battlefield she wasn’t fully prepared for. She stopped at the edge of the clearing, her eyes scanning the field. Her body felt stronger than it had ever been in her previous life. Her muscles responded faster. Her reflexes were sharper. But her chest still felt tight, like a wound that had not completely closed. “You’re carrying yesterday with you,” Aria said quietly inside her mind. “I don’t know how not to,” Kiara admitted. “It feels like if I let go, I’ll fall apart.” Aria’s presence was steady, calm. “Then today, you learn how to stand while carrying it.” Alpha Daniel stood at the center of the field, watching the warriors closely. His posture was relaxed, but Kiara could sense his awareness—nothing escaped his notice. “Pair up!” Rowan shouted. Kiara’s stomach tightened. She knew this moment was coming. “Kiara,” Rowan called. “You’re with Mara.” Mara stepped forward, stretching her arms and rolling her neck. She looked serious today—none of her earlier teasing or casual confidence. “This isn’t a friendly match,” Mara said quietly as they faced each other. “Alpha’s watching. And so is everyone else.” Kiara nodded. “I understand.” Aria’s voice sharpened slightly. “Remember—emotion acknowledged, not unleashed.” Rowan raised his hand. “Begin!” Mara attacked instantly. Her strikes were quick and efficient, forcing Kiara to retreat. Kiara blocked, dodged, rolled across the dirt, barely avoiding a blow to her ribs. The impact of Mara’s strength vibrated through her arms. Pain flared—and with it, memory. Cold stone. Chains. A voice dripping with disgust. “You’re weak.” Kiara stumbled. “Focus!” Aria snapped. “Stay here. Stay now.” Kiara inhaled sharply and forced herself back into the present. She countered with a low sweep, forcing Mara to jump back. “Good,” Mara muttered. “Again!” They circled each other. Kiara moved faster now, her body remembering what her mind struggled with. She struck, retreated, struck again. Her confidence grew with each successful move. Then Mara’s blade clipped her shoulder. The pain was sharp and immediate. Something inside Kiara snapped. The world tilted violently, and suddenly she wasn’t on the training ground anymore. She was kneeling. Rejected. Broken. Her bond tearing apart inside her chest. “You were never enough.” “No,” Kiara whispered, but the memory surged like a flood. Aria roared inside her. “KIARA! PULL BACK!” But emotion surged faster than reason. Silver light burst from Kiara’s body, flaring around her like living flame. Gasps rippled through the warriors. “What is that?” “Did you see her eyes—?” Mara stumbled back instinctively. “Kiara, stop!” Kiara’s breathing turned ragged. Her vision blurred. Rage, fear, grief, and humiliation twisted together, feeding the power spilling from her. “I won’t kneel again!” Kiara screamed, her voice breaking. “I won’t be weak!” Her eyes glowed silver. The ground beneath her feet cracked slightly. Aria wrapped around her mind like a shield. “You are losing control. Listen to me!” Alpha Daniel moved faster than anyone else. “ENOUGH!” His Alpha pressure slammed down—not crushing, but absolute. It cuts through the chaos like a blade, forcing the silver energy to falter. “Kiara,” Alpha Daniel said firmly, stepping into the ring. “Look at me.” She couldn’t breathe. Her chest burned like it was tearing open. Tears streamed down her face as she struggled to contain the power screaming to be released. “I won’t be broken again,” she sobbed. “You won’t,” Alpha Daniel said calmly. “But power without control will destroy you.” Aria’s voice softened, grounding her. “Breathe with me. Slowly.” Kiara dropped to one knee, hands trembling as she forced the energy inward. She focused on Aria’s presence—warm, steady, real. Inhale. Exhale. The silver light dimmed. The training ground fell into stunned silence. Alpha Daniel turned sharply to the watching warriors. “What you witnessed was a trainee losing emotional balance. Nothing more.” His Alpha pressure flared subtly, firm and commanding. The warriors lowered their gazes, instinctively accepting his words. “Return to training,” he ordered. Slowly, reluctantly, they obeyed. Mara approached cautiously once the energy fully faded. “Are you hurt?” Kiara shook her head weakly. “I’m sorry.” Mara studied her carefully, then shook her head. “You didn’t attack me. That matters.” Rowan joined them, his expression serious. “You almost exposed yourself.” “I know,” Kiara whispered. “I didn’t mean to.” Alpha Daniel knelt in front of her again. “Intent does not erase consequence. But awareness is the first step to mastery.” He helped her to her feet. “You have power tied directly to emotion,” he said. “Fear, rage, grief—they amplify it. That makes you dangerous.” Kiara lowered her gaze. “I don’t want to hurt anyone.” “Then you will learn restraint,” Alpha Daniel replied. “From now on, emotional control will be trained alongside combat.” She nodded. “I’ll do whatever it takes.” As training ended, Kiara sat alone beneath a tree, exhaustion weighing heavily on her body and soul. “I scared them,” she whispered. Aria responded gently. “You scared yourself. And that fear will teach you respect for your power.” Kiara stared at her hands. “What if one day I lose control completely?” Aria’s presence wrapped around her like an embrace. “Then we will face it together. Just as we faced death.” The sun dipped low in the sky, painting the world in gold and crimson. Kiara stood slowly. This path was dangerous. But she would walk it anyway. Because she refused to be broken ever again.
