Mind Games!

"Darryl!", He said and my wind pipe caught breath. I got inside his SUV and he made his way towards Brandon's office quietly. He stopped the car in front of the office building and I made my way inside all alone. I went directly into Brandon's office who sat in his chair working on his laptop and drank his whiskey at the same time. He had his hair messed around his head and his sleeved were rolled up to his elbows. Even without trying he looked deliciously good. Why the f**k do I lose my focus, whenever I see him? I'm a strong solid woman! Who's focused and sharp and I don't lose myself over a handsome, delicious, good looking, charm affecting, heart melting... Stop! And focus you weak b***h! I went ahead and sat right opposite to him from his chair. He closed down his laptop as soon as he saw me. He picked his glass up and got up as he walked towards me and stood right above me leaning back on his glass desk. "Nice skinny jeans.", He retorted as he eyed my legs and I realised that I wasn't wearing any jeans instead my black denim shorts. I realised that I lied even in front of Rosita who might have reported him on my clothes. s**t! I gulped down and smiled. I didn't bother to say much, not knowing what else loops I've left in my lie earlier from that morning. "Haven't you been hanging a little bit too much with your friends.", He added drinking down his drink. He stood with his hands crossed and leaned back on his desk and eyed me for an answer. He straightened himself and made his way towards a corner and pressed a button that opened a close cupboard that emerged out from the wall, fuming out clouds of coldness. It was a built in refrigerator and had large and expensive sets of drinks and bottles placed down. He picked up a bottle and poured himself one. He walked back and sat at chair near mine. I intervened my fingers together afraid of what he might have known. I still dared to go behind his back and was doing things that would possibly infuriate him if he found out. He lifted his legs up and rotated my chair with his shinny reflecting shoes and held my chair to meet my face right parallel to mine. "How bad of me to not to ask you... Would you like a drink?", He asked in a psychotic manner making me shiver internally. I looked up at him and saw his face reading down my expression, boring holes inside my entire existence. I simply shook my head. "Of course you're the good girl who doesn't drink or doesn't lie.", He added again making me gulp down. He was definitely playing a sick mind game with me but I wasn't going to give out anything to him as well. "Your step mother and sister went to visit your grandma today.", He said making me look directly into his eyes. "They went out for shopping.", He added noticing my wide eyes, expressing fear of what he might say next. "Oh... And that psycho lover of yours, he's back in Miami, he left this morning. He might have an accident in a day or two and break a little bit of bones to make him understand to not to touch what has my labels. I would've let it slip by but then I heard your conversation with him last night.", He stated everything out casually. A chill of fear and sweat ran down my spine. How did he heard my conversation with him. I clearly remember there was no one except for me and him until he completely came over me and then Brandon pushed him off. "And he just needed to know, he shouldn't say such words about me especially when he's in my city.", He said moving his finger along the rim of his glass. I was still rather hurt at how he perceived my situation with Chase and rather mocked him as my psycho lover. If only he'd know what I'd been through because of such obsessive behaviours that rendered my life in turmoil. "You seemed to hang out a lot with your old friends lately.", He finally said for what he'd brought me here. I stayed quiet at that as well, waiting for him to speak further. "I asked you something.", He said in a louder voice making me shrill. "I... I...", I stammered as I spoke. "You?", He rose his one eyebrow higher than the other one clenching his jaw with anger and annoyance. Amy! Clear your head out! "Fel and Connor, I am doing this so that I could help them rekindle their relationship.", I lied instantly not knowing what else to say. "Why was Fel asking you about being forced into this marriage at the party last night?", He asked me breaking my stance of confidence. I eyed him with fear running down my entire circular system. "How'd you...?", I asked but he cut me off. "Answer my question!", He exclaimed out loud as I trembled in my chair. He got up and went ahead to stand in front of his huge window pane and see the reflecting city lights. Suddenly the answer to his question rushed anger inside me. "Your Ex girlfriend", I began with a much confident tone, "That bimbo Shelly! She barged into my friend's boutique yesterday where she started yelling and asking where my dress was because she wanted to burn it down. Because apparently I am the consultant nun that doesn't deserve the title of the first lady. She screamed in front of the entire shop, in front of Fel's each and every employee how she was perfectly going to be your next wife, you two were going to have a happy life and a roadside runaway junkie like me ruined it!", I fumed out my entire anger at Brandon and yelled everything that Fel had previously told me last night why she asked me about my marriage at first place. Brandon stood placing down his one hand on the window pane and holding a glass of whiskey in his other hand. "But how'd you know about this conversation?", I asked him back now! "You are stupider than I thought you would be.", He turned as he gulped down the final content of his drink. I looked up to his fuming gaze as he looked at me. Suddenly something hit me. I remember placing down the ring in Connor's car last night as I was playing it in my fingers before going inside Con's. And I wasn't wearing the ring today. He bugged the ring! "You insipid person!", I almost yelled at him as my jaw hung open with the crude realisation of what he'd done. My entire body trembled with fear of how far he went with his actions. "You bugged my ring!", I hissed at him and he chuckled coldly. "Not so stupid now huh?", He stated. "You bugged my room!", I stated with another realisation. He then turned towards me, "What?", He asked as my words hit him. I stopped before I could state anything further. "Did... Did you bug my room as well?", I rephrased my words carefully. "I didn't need to. I've appointed Rosita on you and she does her job pretty well. Only if you didn't sneak out on her.", He stated moving closer to me and standing tall above me. "Why aren't you wearing the ring?", He asked leaning down and colliding his face with mine. I leaned my neck back avoiding any physical contact with a drunk, intoxicated Brandon. He didn't even seem be to in his right mind, I realised he was just drunk angry. He leaned back straight and went ahead to pour himself another drink. "Did you find out about your attacker?", I asked him out of nowhere realisation he was talking and might as well spit out this part. "That's none of your business.", He coldly stated gulping down his glass. Guess he's not that drunk after all huh? "Who was the E.P?", I asked him, trying to get some information out of him. "I said, it's none of your business!", He said again with an annoyed and louder tone. He sat down on his chair with his back facing me. "I think you should stop drinking. Because that's your fourth glass since I've came here and I have no idea how long you've been drinking.", I said through a plan low tone. "Shut up!", He hissed at me and I simply c****d my eyebrows at his words knowing that it wasn't a surprise reaction from him. "Should I go now or what?", I asked him raising my shoulders. He turned his chair to face me square. "You don't move a muscle! Unless and until I don't ask you to. Now shut the f**k up!", He stated and opened his laptop again and started typing and going through his work. I was rather rendered and left hanging to nothing. I simply looked around to nothing. I took my jacket off as I felt warmness rushing inside me. After a while I took my shoes off and folded my legs on the chair. I rather felt tired with my eyes getting heavy. I felt slumber take over me as I felt out of energy to fight my heavy eyes to keep them open anymore. I felt a jerk on my head as I snapped opened my eyes and saw myself laying on a couch. I picked myself up and realised that I was still inside Brandon's office and I was now laying on the couch. I picked myself up and saw my jacket and my shoes still near placed near the chair I remembered last sitting on. I walked towards the chair and realised that the entire office was empty. I looked at the time and it was three in morning. What the hell just happened? I tried questioning myself but my brain seemed to lose track of time and things. My eyes still felt heavy for sleep. I picked up my jacket and put my shoes on and made my way towards the door. I pulled the door and realised that it was locked. My anxiety just rose by ten octaves. I slammed and banged the door but no one answered. My anxiety panged my heart and my lungs felt out of air. "Somebody, open the door!", I yelled again and no one answered. I slammed and banged the door but it didn't appear to work. I tried pushing the door with my arms but they were steel doors with rods as their handle, larger and heavier than my entire existence and it didn't work of course. I finally gave in and slipped down with my back against the door. I sat with my eyes met the straight view of Brandon's laptop. Is this some coincidence? I picked myself up and went towards Brandon's seat. I sat down and opened the laptop. I knew that there were cameras but I already had set my mind on a game plan. I started going through his laptop one by one, opening each and every file. But I found nothing as the usual disappointment hit me. My eyes caught the an internal drive with the name "Confidential" Of course my mind would want to see what's inside it. I opened it but I didn't had the access. I guess no password was even required. I went through other files and saw a folder named "The O'Neil associations." That definitely caught my attention. I opened the files but it was encrypted as well. I opened the file properties and saw the last resource of the file to be 11th of April. It was the day of the function at the city hall. I went into the resources and found the second last resource to be 30th of April which was two days before dad came to Miami which was on 1st of April. So there was some sort of deal going around. The matter is as fishy as I thought it to be. I subtly connected down the drive I had in my jacket to the laptop and kept my hand to the sides of the laptop to hide the drive from the corner angled cameras. I kept my hands still until the file was transferred and luckily Connor had already told me that the drive was incognito one and it leaves no trace of external connection in any mega crypted laptop. I opened the internet browser and started playing online games and watched videos on YouTube to pass the time. I looked at my watch and it was only four in the morning. "Are you shitting me?", I yelled at loud not knowing what else to do. But my brain had another wicked idea. I decided to play a little in Brandon's office. I finally felt tired, until slumber took over me as my eyes became heavy and I lost control of myself.
