Chapter 4:

The next few days were filled with tension and unease. I couldn't shake the feeling that my pack was watching me, waiting for me to slip up again. I knew that I had put them all at risk by being involved with a human, but I couldn't help the way that I felt about Alex. I tried to keep my distance from him, but it was difficult. Every time I saw him, my heart ached with longing. I missed him like crazy, and I knew that he missed me too. One day, I received a message from him. It was short and to the point, but it filled me with hope. "Meet me at the old abandoned cabin tonight," it said. "We need to talk." I knew that it was risky, but I couldn't resist. "I'm moving away, somewhere where no one knows me. I can't stay here, Lena. It's too dangerous." I felt like my world was falling apart. I couldn't imagine life without Alex, and the thought of him leaving me was unbearable. "But what about us?" I asked, my voice breaking. "What about our love?" Alex looked at me, his expression pained. "I don't know," he said. "Maybe someday we can be together again, when things are different. But for now, I have to go. I'm sorry, Lena. I love you." And with that, he turned and walked away, disappearing into the forest. I stood there for a moment, feeling numb and empty. I couldn't believe that he was gone, that our love had been torn apart by circumstances beyond our control. But I knew that I couldn't give up. I had to find a way to make things right, to bring Alex back into my life. I had to fight for our love, no matter what it took..
