"I have to get out of here!" Rena muttered in frustration. Rubbed her forehead wet with cold sweat. "I can't wait until Morgenstern finishes me off! After all, I was already strong enough; all the wounds on my body were almost healed."
Repeatedly sighed in despair, unable to stand still, agitated and threatened. Remembering the atrocities of Kaius Morgenstern in the past. Most surprisingly, Rena realized this was the first time she met the Alpha Lycan King Osiris in person; Rena always thought that Kaius Morgenstern was an irritating Old Fart Man figure. She didn't know; in her mind’s imagination was a Horned Lycan monster with a devil-like tail.
The opposite of rumors. Kaius Morgenstern looks like a young man in his late twenties! Verena found it hard to believe that this charming, cold man had sparked the bloody war of slaughter decades ago.
"Gosh, it's not the time to think about that! I have to run! I must stay alive to avenge Deverell!" Rena swore; her tongue felt like swallowing hot tin liquid when she said that damned name.
Verena combed her golden hair back under the dim light of the December morning sun that looked as weak as the moon. Silver-gray clouds loom over the horizon. Rena was distressed by the strong scent of Lycans everywhere.
Digris Northlandic, Pack Osiris, who was powerful and conquered the Netherworld continent, almost all corners of this country were always buried by snow throughout the year. Behind the frozen air, mounds of white snow are everywhere, but it stores the beauty and fertility of magical nature. Background of mountains, rows of misty pine forest, frozen lake puddles.
Never before had Verena witnessed this fantastic sight. Gazing at the landscape like this instead reminds Rena of Kaius Morgenstern's cold, sharp, but brilliant eye color.
"I feel so crazy. What am I supposed to do? Come on, think of something, Rena." Her murmur rubbed an anxious face, finally between surrender and despair; Rena sat on the edge of the bed.
The rows of large windows that were released by the black iron did not let her get out or escape quickly. Rena tried to destroy the window trellis, whatever she used, but did not produce the hoped-for results. Such window trellises remain firmly in place.
The only other way out is the twin-room access door, which is locked tightly. Rena repeatedly published various ways to open it, but it was still nil. The door was tightly locked, because of the strong scent of a pair of army Lycans that seemed to be guarding the room door the entire time.
Being locked in that magnificent bedroom made Verena breathless. Every day, she just sat before a massive window, staring at all the activities of the Osiris pack through the glare of gloomy eyes. All its citizens seem prosperous, homely, and peaceful. Screams and joyful laughter of children that almost sounded like the chirping of birds.
Directly pinching the hole of emptiness in the soul, Rena's fingers grasped the pendant necklace hidden behind her nightgown; with a deep breath of loss and heartbreak, she opened the cover of the pendant that held a tiny memory photo of Ares and Malia. Surprisingly, Verena's tears dried up; Rena rubbed her twins' faces slowly, hugging them tightly. "This is all I have. That bastard didn't let me take my baby stuff. I swear they will pay for your death, my child!"
[ Clack! ]
When the bedroom door was wide open, Verena was jolted up, hiding in the corner of the large bed. Rena peeked from behind a silk valance. A maid entered, pushing a trolley containing lunch plates; her face looked gloomy when approaching the trolley. The breakfast menu is still intact and reluctant to be touched by Rena.
"Excuse me, miss. Aren't you hungry? Why don't you ever touch the food we serve? Say something; if you don't like it, we can replace it with another menu or whatever you want." Said the maid girl, lowering her head, showing a respectful attitude and a genuine loud voice.
"I'm not starving," Rena answered, still hiding behind a valance.
The girl sighed deeply. "You can call me Danika. That's my name. Feel free, miss. Suppose I beg you, if the Grand Master finds out you're reluctant to touch the food, we could all be punished."
Rena bit her lower lip; inside, she was half-cursing. [ Yeah, Morgenstern is cruel and heartless! ]
"Please, eat something," Danika begged in a trembling voice. "We will be in trouble if you continue to reject the food we serve."
"I just want to get out of this place. Can you help me? Please, I can't be here. You know who I am, right? I'm a pure werewolf! Your eternal enemy!"
Danika was startled; her head shook, and she moved forward in a panic. Danika's face turned pale. "Don't do that, Miss! I beg you, the Grand Master will be furious—"
There was a long silence. Danika wanted to get close to Verena but failed. Slowly, she retreated, pulling the morning menu trolley with a miserable, bent look. Danika approached the bedroom exit door. "I'm sorry, Miss. If it's about that, I can't help you. Please, eat something. Do not let you get sick."
The room door was wide open; Rena could see two guards standing outside, opening the door for Danika. Rena was unwilling to let Danika go; she almost jumped out of bed early, but failed when Rena realized the painful pressure that squeezed her stomach.
Rena's stomach churned, and she hesitated to approach the food trolley. Not because of the menu, "I'm famish. Surprisingly, they always give me delicious food and snacks. How could I eat this? If Morgenstern puts poison in here, I will die—?"
Indeed, that's what Rena had been afraid of since yesterday; she realized she was reluctant to touch all the food sent because she suspected it contained hazardous toxins. But the aroma of deliciousness spread throughout the bedroom; if she remembered the sound of Danika's genuine plea—Rena felt guilty.
"Of course, the cruel Morgenstern, the cold-blooded killer—why can you stay here serving such a fearsome man as he is, Danika?!"
The situation is precarious, Rena at the insistence of hunger and unbearable thirst. "Do I have a choice? After all, doesn't running away from here require extra strength and energy?"
Rena devoured the food with a long sigh due to the drained feeling.

"Who the hell are you?!" Rena shrieked irritably in aghast at the appearance of a casual, elegant-looking woman who suddenly burst in from the room door.
The adorable woman's facelifted haughtily, her jaw soared as if holding back her anger, and the glare of her eyes showed an aura of hostility as cunning as a Fox. Resentment thickens, and Verena Iridessa realizes it is too late.
Rena suddenly retreated, feeling intimidated, and then moved away from the woman who moved forward to corner her.
"Do you want to escape from this place?" asked the arrogant woman, folding her hands on her chest.
Rena frowned, confused. "How do you know? Can you help me?"
"Absolutely can!" said the woman, smiling smugly, pointing at Rena's shoulder with a tone denouncing mixed satisfaction and victory. "Conditionally, go as far as you can and never return here again! You should be sober! It's not appropriate for an outcast werewolf like you to be here! You're the eternal enemy of the Lycans!"
Rena's heart was pinched by the pain of hearing the long blonde-haired woman's insulting words. It turned out that the woman was not a friendly person. She did intentionally, blatantly expel Rena from Digris Northlandic. The woman hated Verena's presence there.
[ At least Danika's attitude is more pleasant and sincere, even though she is a maid. ] Rena mumbled inwardly.
Rena had no other option but to accept this threatening help. When investigating about the appearance of the glamorous, arrogant woman, Rena thought the woman must be a member of the Morgenstern family. She easily got into this room through the tight guard out there.
[ Particular woman, huh? Who is she? Kaius's sibling—maybe? ]
The woman grabbed rough Rena's hand, secretly handing her the duplicate key. "I'll distract the guards if you hear me shrieking. You can leave right then! Remember what I said! Never go back!"
"Why are you helping me—?"
"You might be mistaken! I didn't mean to help you. You didn't see it? I'm kicking you out! Kaius is not at the Mansion. He went to the office of his company. It's a good time for you to run away!" replied the woman sarcastically. She approached the door and refused to show a friendly attitude; without saying anything else, she left. Her firm back disappeared behind the closed door.
Rena stared at the key in her pale, trembling hand. That woman called Kaius by a diminutive name. [ She's a jerk anyway. Haughty, she even refuses to introduce herself to me? Blimey, what was I thinking? Get out of here! It is a golden chance! ]
Without warning, the arrogant woman's screams echoed in terror, strangling Verena's neck to death.
[ WHAT?! HELP!!! ]
