"Yes!" Lyra screamed in my head. "Let me out! Give me my mate!"
"No." I told them both. Lyra howled, and he looked disappointed. "I cannot let her out in my territory. They will execute me. It's forbidden."
"No one will touch you." He promised me.
"Not here." I begged looking into his eyes. "Please not here."
He couldn't refuse me. He just nodded and held me close to him, while he knelt naked in the snow. He suddenly stood, lifting me with him and carried me back to the house as the sun started to rise. An arm poked out from a tree holding a blanket. "Thank you James." My mate said as he took it and wrapped me in it carefully. His beta James stepped from behind the tree with another blanket and draped it on Kaid's shoulders.
