"We are too. Me, Kaid, and Nat. Bring her last." I said back to him. I looked at Nat, and kissed her quickly before I was blinked away.
Being blinked isn't as easy or glorious as it sounds. It's painful, and loud. It feels like your entire body is being ripped in half through time and space while a 20 piece drum band plays in your ears. It feels ten times worse than your first shift, which is the most painful thing I can honestly think of. Even though it only takes a moment in time, it feels like hours and can be exhausting.
