*Norah* Counting my steps, I walk away from the house. I miss my midnight strolls, but here I can find no landmarks to identify. No fence, no wooden figure, no boisterous laughter drifting out from the saloon, nothing to guide me. I could easily lose my way, and knowing the exact number of steps between the house and my destination is imperative. I must ask River to build me a path. I would go crazy without the freedom to wander. My blindness would not cage me in as much as River's love will. Is that fair to either of us? Will I come to resent it? I know without a doubt that I want to spend the remainder of my life with him, grow old with him, and bring his children into the world.
