CONFRONTATION
Elena gave her statement to the police first thing the next morning and they promised they’d investigate. However, neither she nor Francesco expected much from them. It was a good thing she’d relied on herself to escape her kidnapper.
She scurried out of the station with Isabella who, at Francesco’s request, had stayed over at her place last night. This was going to be a nightmare if she needed babysitting everywhere she went. Elena was twenty years old, and in spite of being kidnapped, she could take care of herself. Maybe her kidnapper had given up on her by now. Or maybe he wasn’t even in the country anymore.
Elena and Isabella hopped on a bus and sat towards the front. She’d missed a couple of days of classes and hoped she’d be able to catch up on the work
