MEMORY FLASHES
Francesco unlocked the shop door and displayed the open sign. He closed the door and filled the cash register float with notes from a money bag. His fingers shook as he closed the register and stared ahead at nothing in particular. Heading to the staff room, he sat on the chair, bowed his head into his hands, and turned his head from side to side. His chest ached, and his stomach pinched him.
