Officer Rodriguez was in fact the chief of the local police department and Jonathan had already filled him in with most of my story, so he already had some files with him for us to look at. It wasn't totally legal, but well he made an exception as a favor to Jonathan, and we had to keep this on the hush hush side, just to keep him safe.
"I looked through everyone that was reported missing in the general area and fit your description as well as the timeframe would make sense."
He pulled out a stack of files and the sole idea that so many people went missing made me sad and terrified.
"So here we have them. Almost all of them have pictures, so it will be easier to figure out who is not you."
