"There's no need for that."
"You have to listen. You have to! Mandy is in love with me, and she'd do anything for me. But you're the one I love the most." Wesley reiterated his nonsensical reasoning.
Gina turned around and looked at him from head to toe.
Well, he's a changed man this time.
He's wearing branded accessories from head to toe. That's all from Mandy Berkeley!
Gina turned away, but he dragged her back once more.
"Gina, I was the one who found you. I know your temper best, and I know you don't understand the reason behind what I'm doing now. Just wait for me. Once I've achieved my goals, I'll divorce Mandy!"
Gina flung his arms away even harder this time around.
"No! You don't understand me! We're the same. We'll do whatever it takes to achieve our goal! I married a rich older man the moment you left the country! All that for his money, so that I can have all the luxuries in the world! Wesley Portman, you're worthless to me now. Stop making a fool out of yourself!"
She did not give Wesley a chance to respond and quickly marched into the mansion. The mansion that she felt unfamiliar with, even though she had stayed there for three years.
Fione Therone and Mandy were staring at her like angry beasts.
Gina saw that Charles wasn't home. Thus, she went straight into her room.
Her mother's photo was dusty on the table. She took it up and rubbed the dust off.
"Mommy, Gina's here to bring you home…."
When Charles got home at 7 pm, he called Gina to join them for dinner, but she ignored them. At 9 pm, Gina was awakened by her hunger. She bumped into Charles in the kitchen.
"Gina, I heard that he's back?"
"Mmm, he's back," Gina said as she took a bite of the leftovers from the fridge.
"Uhm, you know, you could invite him over for a meal. We're family anyway. It'd be awkward if we couldn't recognize him when we're walking on the streets." Charles said as he placed a cup of water on the table for Gina.
Gina looked at him and then continued eating. "You need something from him?"
"Ah, that's normal. I'm his father-in-law. It's perfectly normal for me to ask for his help."
She knew it. He wouldn't have invited her home for naught.
"He's busy. I'll invite him over when he is free." Gina took her plate and returned to the kitchen.
Charles followed her, "Gina, I heard he…."
"He's handsome, and he treats me well." She said as she already knew what he was about to say.
Before she got married to him, she overheard Mandy and Fione's conversation about how her husband-to-be was old, ugly, and weird.
Gina wouldn't have agreed to it if it weren't for something else.
"That's good… you know I've always felt guilty about this." Charles sighed.
"I thought you were bringing me to mommy's grave. When?" Gina asked indifferently.
"It's no rush. Help me get this deal sealed first," Charles said as he tried to change the topic again.
Gina threw the dishes into the sink and went straight up.
The conversation with Charles was revolting, but Mandy took 'revolting' to the next level.
Mandy was dressed in lingerie, leaning in front of Gina's room door, looking at her mockingly, "What's up? You held it all in when you were eating, but now you can't hold it when you saw me kissing Wesley?"
Gina laughed coldly, "If I heard any of that, I would've vomited all of my food."
"You… you're just jealous!" Mandy shouted at her.
"Well, let's see who's going to laugh till the end." Gina pushed Mandy away and closed the door.
No matter how resilient she tried to be, her dreams were filled with Wesley that night. His past gentleness turned into a nightmare for her.
She bumped into Charles again in the morning.
"I forgot to mention. You knew Wesley as well. He will be married to your sister soon. You'll need to treat him with respect, okay?"
"Dad, I'm going to be late for class."
"Don't forget what I told you last night." Charles pulled her arms and reminded her.
"Alright." Gina took her backpack. It was heavy.
-Blue Mountain Café-
Gina watched the oncoming vehicles with her big eyes.
Instead of the usual silver Maybach, she bumped into the one person she didn't want to meet.
She figured that Lady Luck was shining on her. Now that she has proof, she could finally make her way into a divorce. She wanted a life where she could make her own decisions!
Stephen picked a seat at the corner, and suddenly, a figure appeared in front of him.
He looked up and saw a pair of big eyes bulging from its sockets.
He almost couldn't recognize who she was.
Gina became even more infuriated. How could he act as if they'd never met?!
Gina would've dragged him up and slapped him if they weren't in a public space.
Gina gestured for him to hurry his way in to make space for her to sit.
"You breached the contract last time. I'll uphold my rights to sue you. If you don't want to lose your job, please be cooperative." She said as she tapped her fingers on the table.
Stephen was toying with a coin. He sneered at her.
"Are you asking for round 2?"
Gina almost choked on her fluid, "You think I'm a slut?!"
"It seems that it's the other way round now," Stephen smirked.
"You…" just as Gina was about to unleash her fury on him, she saw Gale walking into the café.
"Over here!" She waved at him.
Gale looked around the place, trying to find his boss.
"Mr. Gale, over here!" Gina waved again.
When Gale approached Gina, he was shocked when he saw Stephen seated next to her.
"Mr. Hawke…" why was he seated next to his wife?
"Is Mr. Hawke busy? It's fine. Since you're his assistant, I can also talk to you." Gina interrupted and shrugged her shoulders as though she did not care.
Gale was the one who organized their marital documents. He could do the ones for divorce as well.
Gale remained silent. He kept all the questions he had to himself.
It is apparent that Gina did not know that the man next to her was her husband.
Gale got an epiphany and realized that the S-size female clothing was for Gina.
The escort that Gina was with last night was Mr. Hawke?!
Oh my god, that could make the headlines!
Gina ordered two cups of discounted coffee for Gale and herself, ignoring Stephen.
"Have you passed it to him?" Gina asked after gesturing to Gale for a drink.
