Elsie's POV
Perched on the side of Gracie's bed, I tucked the covers up to her neck, making sure she was snuggled in for the night. After her chaotic day in the forest today, being cornered by the rogue wolf, she looked exhausted. No doubt she will sleep well tonight. I hoped her dreams were delightful, and her mind didn't replay awful memories of the day to give her nightmares.
"You're safe now Gracie," I smiled, running my fingers over her cheek "Sleep tight,"
I was about to lift myself off the bed, when Gracie held my arm "Can you stay a bit longer?" she asked, her blue eyes so innocent as she gazed up at me "I'm scared on my own,"
My heart ached for the little sweetheart, she had been spooked and I imagine that was her first encounter with an actual violent and cruel wolf
