Mr. and Ms. Arrogant

Luca Livingston

Luca Livingstone, from Dallas, Texas, the ruggedly handsome, dashing hunk who would give goosebumps and ecstasy to any girls in the world. He is 6’2” tall, fair and well built guy who is well known for his arrogance and rudeness. He is the owner of the company named ltronix, where AI is researched and used in electronic equipments. He also runs his family business. His parents and sister Debbie lived in Dallas, while he lives in Richmond. His family owns a ranch. He was a professional football player in college days. He was captain and quarterback of SMU Mustangs.

When he completed college, he decided to join the army. His parents were against his decision, but later surrendered to his demand. Five years later he met Janice, who was the personal assistant of his mother. They were dating. He was a jovial and optimistic guy till the life turning accident. 

Luca met Janice first time when he came for vacation from the army. He went to see his mom who was at the office. He was waiting for her to come out of the meeting she was attending. It was then his eyes met with a girl who was in her early 20’s walking out of the conference room. He was attracted by her beauty and innocence. He couldn’t stop staring her that he didn’t know his mom, Mrs. Nicole Livingston, came there. “Hey Luca, when did you come. Were you here for long time.”

Luca: “Mom, didn’t see you coming. I came here 10 minutes ago.”

Nicole: “How long are you here?.”

Luca: “Mom, why are you so eager to send me away. I have just arrived and you’re asking when will I return. Don’t you love me anymore.” He made a sad puppy face.

Nicole: “Luca, will you stop these melodramas. I’m little busy right now. Is there anything urgent for you to say?.”

Luca: “No mom, just came to say hi and who the new girl over there.”

Nicole: “Oh, that’s Janice, my new P.A. Janice please come here. This is my son Luca. He is serving in the army. Right now he is on vacation.”

Janice: “Nice to meet you Mr. Luca. Will meet you later. Ma’am the investors are waiting for you.”

Luca was enjoying her presence which was only for a few minutes. He fell head over heels for her. He asked the receptionist about her. She told him Janice was from Austin, she is working for two months. He took the file about Janice and saw she was currently living in a flat near the office. She was 22 years old and has graduated in commerce. He thought finally he met his soulmate. She would be a perfect life partner. 

When he reached home, he was thinking about Janice. Debbie saw her brother was day dreaming and ignoring his surroundings. She called their father Richard and showed him Luca. He was also astonished to see his son like this. It’s the first time Luca was behaving like this. Richard saw Luca was standing near a hot kettle. To wake him from his dream Richard said to pass the kettle. Luca did it without paying attention to anything. He was startled that his hand was burned. Only then he knew it was a prank by his father and sister. 

Richard: “Son, where is your mind? What is the matter that you forgot about your surroundings and living in a dream world. Do you know who we are or are still daydreaming?.”

Luca: “Papa, what are you saying, are you drunk or so.” He was blushing while saying this. Debbie started to tease him. He made an angry face and left the house. He went to his friend Raymond’s house. There he spends some time and came back home to see his mother was back from office. Debbie told her the incident and they all had a nice laugh.

Next morning Luca woke up early and went with his mother to the office. She didn’t find anything wrong with it because sometimes he accompanies her when he comes for vacation. Luca was searching for Janice. It was then he saw a girl waiting in the lobby. He saw one of the staff coming and asked her who she was looking for. He didn’t hear what she said and after some time he saw one of technical staff Mrs. Geeta Miller came and hugged the girl. He knew the girl was Mrs. Miller’s daughter. The girl was looking like a boy. Behind them came Janice and she was talking to Mrs. Miller. Luca was staring Janice that she saw this and was feeling uncomfortable. She went to her cabin. Luca followed her and entered her cabin.

Janice: “Mr. Livingston, how can I help you.”

Luca: “Just call me Luca. I want to spend a day with you. When will you be free?.”

Janice was shocked she said, “Excuse me, is this some kind of joke. I am your employee and I don’t have any intention to get into the bad side of Mrs. Livingston. Sir, if there isn’t any emergency shall I leave.” He was so dumbfound that it was the first time he asked a girl out and she refused it straight to his face. He wasn’t hurt by her words, indeed his desire to own her was strengthened. He started to woo her, that finally she surrendered her heart to him.

Everybody was happy with the couple. He proposed to Janice the day before he was leaving to join his duty. Thus he returned to his unit engaged to his sweetheart. When he reached there he was posted to Iraq and had to leave the next day. Luca called Janice and told he was going to Iraq and when he returns he will marry her. He had to work in Iraq for a year. Then he got two months vacation. Luca was so excited to meet his Janice and make her his forever. When he reached there he saw  Janice was looking tensed. He inquired about it and she avoided his questions. He started to follow her and saw Janice was talking with Mrs. Miller. He again asked Janice about the meeting with Geeta. She denied Luca.

Janice: “Luca lets talk about our wedding plans. I am so excited to be with you forever.” Luca was happy to hear her and said they will get married next Sunday itself.

Luca drove Janice to her home. When they were near her home a truck came out of nowhere and hit their car. Luca’s car slipped away and hit a pedestrian. Everybody on the accident spot was rushed to the hospital. The pedestrian was Geeta Miller who died on the spot and Janice was pronounced dead on the way to hospital. Luca had suffered serious injuries, that he went through surgery immediately. It took a week to regain his consciousness. When he woke up, he was searching for Janice. Debbie lied to him that she is in critical state. After a few days he was shifted to a room, he came to know that Janice was dead. He was heartbroken. The police came to investigate the accident.

Officer: “Hi, I’m Matt, I am in charge of the accident investigation. Do you remember how the accident happened?.”

Luca: “I was driving to Janice home. When we were near her home a truck came and hit us.”

Officer: “Mr. Luca, there was no truck near the accident spot. Even the CCTV footage shows you were driving overspeed and your car skid and hit a pedestrian. The results from your blood sample shows drugs and alcohol content exceeding the permitted limit. “

Luca was stupefied hearing the officer’s accusations. He never did drugs and took alcohol when he is at home. He also never drives whenever he was drunk at parties. He knew someone was trying to frame him for a crime he never did. When he regained his health completely, he was arrested and put to trial. Luca was numb due to lose of Janice that he didn’t  try to prove his innocence. He just wanted to punish himself for not saving his Janice. The court found him guilty on the charges of using drugs and alcohol and driving a vehicle in an intoxicated state. He was sentenced to one year imprisonment. Luca was terminated from Marine services. His parents and sister was devastated to hear the verdict. Luca knew somebody was framing him, but he didn’t care because he was dead inside after he lost Janice forever. When he was released from jail after one year,  he left to Richmond, where he started a small company. He lost all his kindness and jovial nature and became arrogant.
